Inside Victory Inn raid: ‘Never seen anything like this'

Detroit strip clubs
The Victory Inn motel is on Michigan Avenue in Detroit. Club Venus is next door. If you visit Detroit, I do not recommend either of these establishments.

Oh come on, jack, Club Venus is the only club with a whorehouse next door. :)

The neighbors did a protest rally the other day protesting the city's plan of keeping it closed for only a year, they want it closed forever. I never took up dancers' (plural) offers of going there after a visit to Club Venus, thank God, to one of Detroit's notorious motels.

Guess I will take that one off my places to stay in The D list.

I wonder if there's anything wrong with our justice system.
The 2 guys busted each have 8 felonies, the cops are looking for 2 other guys, 1 with 12 felonies including murder, the other with 11. Why the fuck were these guys even free to roam the streets? American justice! ;-(

I remember hearing how in Centerville, Illinois (not far from East St. Louis) there is a motel that's popular with all the strippers and that they do a lot of OTC there. Supposedly a dude could go to the stripper motel after hours, cruise around a little and get some P2P action. Not sure if it's still going on.

I think I'll keep staying at the Henry Autograph in Dearborn instead.

I drive by this place all the time. Years ago truckers used to stay there. There is a big freight yard just up the street next to the drive-in movie theater. There was an all-night donut place across the street (Yum-Yum Tastee Donuts).

The truckers all disappeared maybe 20 years ago and I assumed something like this was going on but didn't know it was that bad.

In all my years of Detroit clubbing I've never been inside Venus. It just didn't look like my kind of place.

Sounds like quite a place, but remember, LE's side of the story is usually exaggerated, as they are looking to build a public mandate for enforcing laws which pertain to the acts of consenting adults.
