If a bank starts handing out free money, of course people are going to take it. It's their own ducking fault if the bank is this stupid and incompetent. I'd never vote to convict the guy of anything. He won the lottery without playing. And he helped a lot of struggling single moms in the process.
I sent a check to VISA once that was for 25.00 and they read it as 2500.00. I cancelled the card after spending the overage and never heard a thing. This was in the 80's so maybe they are more sophisticated now.Of course 2500.oo was a lot of money in the early '80's.
