TUSCL politics

This site should be changed to tusclpolitics.com, with the number of political threads here daily. I know election season is near, but God damn this shit is on overload here.

Not to mention it's always the same thing here. If you're a right winger you say you don't like Trump, but that is Hillary is worse. If you're a left winger you say you don't like Hillary, but that Trump is worse. Both sides just trash the other side, not being objective at all. This is why politics is so bad today, both sides don't want to come together to create solutions, they just want to spend their time bashing the other side.

The same old shit everyday!

Politics, religion, and race, have always been hot-button topics, it's the nature of the beast

People are just saying what's on their minds, Larry.

Yes much of it is redundant. Its probably not going away until November, and then the real season of gloating and butt-hurt begins. Butt-hurt gloating, gloating butt-hurt. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

I don't get why people are bothered by these types if discussion, I'm one who interested on how we all agree about TnA and completely disagree on how our lives should be governed.

Too me every PL is a liberal whether they know it or repress it

That's fine Hugh_G, I have no problem with people saying what's on their mind, the problem is they try to make it like what they're saying is all objective, and 100% fact. No, it's just your opinion based on what way you lean politically. Most of the time they don't even look at other points of view.

Agreed. I'm ignoring all political threads from now on especially those to do with race.

Feel free to ignore the OT threads. But when was the last time we had a truly interesting, original thread about strip clubs? There aren't any. There's only so many ways to rehash the same topics over and over again.

I think you guys are missing the point. My problem is not that we some have political threads. My problem is that there are about 50 of them, and they're all the same!

But yes I can ignore them.

larry... your are 100% correct in your assessment of the political system as we are experiencing now.

The two sides wont come together for the common good.

I have said this 100 times....no matter what "party" you are associated with you are in the minority. Both the dems and republics make up about 80% of the nation....so each party is 40%..... so if people vote on party lines they are pissing off 60% of the nation. Our fore fathers would be cringing and what is going on. People are not coming together in our democracy.... they are saying... mine mine... and not we we.

A redundant discussion about the posting of redundant discussions. There's a Dilbert cartoon in there somewhere.

I do appreciate that very few TUSCLers are religious, and those that are seem to practice a sort of non dogmatic spirituality

    And your point is???

If you don't want to read them, don't.

Of course if Hillary becomes president....

If you look up "Crooked" in the dictionary it says ref. 'politician'
You know the only problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money!
Did you know until the federal government grew so big it had to look for things outside of its constitutionally mandated areas to control there were no state or federal laws against prostitution, strip clubs, pornography, homosexuality, adultery etc. Sometime in the late 1800's or early 1900's government found itself so large it was looking for things to regulate so some do good-er decided we were to stupid to control our own genitals and passed laws that stated when, where, how and with whom you could put you dick. I realize churches have always preached about sex and it mostly comes from ancient health laws like eating Kosher and from a desire for power (muslims) but our government had stayed essentially out of the sex business. Now they want to control and tax all. Hence the marriage license, a tax on cohabitation. Why do I need the governments permission to get married??????????? Answer TAXES and CONTROL. Government needs to get out of the sex business.
Government has gotten so big it is now growing itself by looking for thing to control. Government produces nothing and takes everything. If we want any freedom left in 20 years government must be cut down to size otherwise it will be Geo. Orwell's 1984.
I wish the libertarians would find slate of truly dynamic candidates that could be swept into office and halve the size of ALL government entitys in 4 years.

    ^+1000 @TiredTrav

Socialism will kill the American Experiment if allowed to progress as it has the last 30 years.
Legislating morality is wrong in a place nicknamed the land of the free.

Protect me from you -- protect you from me -- fine! Don't protect me from me!

If I want a 64 oz. soft drink -- fuck off. If I want to stick my dick ANYWHERE or in ANY ADULT that wants it, in exchange for anything (a marriage license, dinner, cash, whatever) -- fuck off.

This country is approaching a tipping point in which a majority of voters are beholden to suckling at the government teat. Free college? Free healthcare? Free meals? No Taxes? Free this? Free that? Free! This is the most dangerous threat to the American Experiment since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

We must shrink government! We must deregulate! We must all keep a greater share of what we earn! We must recognize when those in power only seek to secure their power for their own futures. We should have terms limits for all political office. We need to elect representation that will roll this shit back!!
