I don't think these type of public campaigns are all that effective against the true sex addict. I do think the fact that all sexwork is being painted with the broad human trafficking brush does scare some guys away. In my opinion, outside of the AMP market, I doubt most adult sex workers are victims of sex trafficking, but if LE is going to play that card on every bust, some guys will stay away.
I think it works for some, but like AZDD says, the true sex addict (I count myself as one) will continue against his better judgement regardless of the consequences.
I feel that the numbers that they portray are grossly exaggerated to keep public support for their over zealous campaign to try and stamp out the oldest profession in the world. It costs the states a good chunk of their budget to prosecute these misdemeanor cases, meanwhile the violent crimes continue to go unchecked. Anytime LE and/or the states attorney office posts numbers, I am always suspicious.
It is easier to hassle johns and hookers, than go after the kingpins. They can ruin the lives of horny citizens with impunity, while looking good to the masses through the smoke screen that is covering up the hard fact that they really did nothing to make the world a better place to live.
Are women forced to work as prostitutes against their will? Yes, there are many. Yet there are as many if not more that do it out of the necessity of trying to make ends meet. The problem is complex and not isolated from economic misfortune of the unskilled, and the drug addiction that most likely pulled many of these unfortunate women into it in the first place.
People sell stuff. People have sex. Those two statements are okay. Now, people who sell sex. Oh the humanity!!! Hypocritical bullshit if you ask me. Okay, I am done venting and steppin' off the condom box now.

I think we make it complex in America – in many other parts of the industrialized world (e.g. Europe; etc); P4P is not seen as such a big deal as long as there isn’t trafficking/pimping going-on.
It’s simple economics - where there is a demand the free-market will always try to come-up w/ the supply.
Males will always want to have sex – one just needs to look at the animal-kingdom to often see drastic examples of what males will go thru to have sex - IMO; it’s a need and not just a want and human beings will always strive to have their basic needs met (food, water, shelter, sex).
P4P has been around forever and hard to see that changing - although the liberals and feminists seem to be doing a very effective job of totally pussyfying today’s millennials.
The way I see it – anti P4P campaigns are often geared to rile-up those that are already against-it; not necessarily to convince those that partake in-it

I fully agree with you. As I have not left the U.S. in my adult life, I was looking at it from that POV. I always thought the "De Wallen" section of Holland is the best, where the mongers actually window shop for the girls. I know coming from a pervert like me that ain't saying much. lol
yes, this site works. The goal is not to reduce prostitution or reduce trafficking. It is to convince the voters and the moral cops that the politicians are doing something about those problems, real or imagined.
Exactly K. It's just to make politicians look like they are doing something. I rarely see any reporting and hype on sex trafficking outside of the election cycle when a big voter turnout is expected, such as during an election year. The rest of the time they don't give one rats ass about actual trafficking victims.
It makes me wonder what's wrong with the other 95% of men who dont buy sex.
Seriously, is that "huge" number supposed to shock me. I would've said higher.
I think the threats of arrest work to discourage the average horny husband from going on line to get an escort. This is why so many men don't buy sex. I researched escorts long ago before I knew about strippers and I didnt try mostly because I was scared of cops.
Sex between consenting adults (over 18) - whether for money or honey or whatever - is a "carry on" catholics "tacked on" to the real crime.
With muddy waters - precious law enforcement resources are expended on frivolous stuff "32 year old John caught fucking 34 year old Jane for money".
The crime that we all ought to be fighting and protecting minors - has never been curbed let alone eliminated.
Legalize adult prostitution. Tax it heavily. Use the money to drive a strong program to protect minors. And tell them catholics to shove their vote up ..
By the way - legalizing prostitution will also reduce rape or forced sex and some argue would also reduce mass shooters - most of whom are lonely, sex deprived males.
Germany, Japan, Brazil, Holland and many other countries have good working systems.
Oh yeah, most of us aren't sex addicts. We are just normal guys who are either smart or lucky enough to have discovered the life that almost every heterosexual man wants to have.
First of all, as I know Phoenix can be a really tough town. The web site makes it out that prostitution and trying to use that to fulfill sexual desire is the real problem. It is not. The real problems are economic and problems of familial child abuse.
As with many U.S. cities police are getting huge grants from the "rescue industry" that are getting millions in support to fund campaigns of lies, phoney stats etc to justify going after in private consenting adults. But the hype is all about sex trafficking, which includes a phone helper, the boyfriend as driver etc. Or the pimp can be the husband of the sex worker if her money is shared with him.
