It's too foggy to see any shadows here this morning but the forecast high is 74 degrees. I'll take it.

I don't understand Groundhog Day. The shadow predicts either 6 more weeks of winter, or an early spring. By my calendar, 6 weeks is mid March. That already IS an early spring!
I'm looking up groundhog recipes. I hear they can be a little greasy but I can work around that.
Fried groundhog, broiled groundhog, minced groundhog, barbecued groundhog, groundhog under glass, stewed groundhog, bacon wrapped groundhog, groundhog shish-kabob, and in the finest Morimoto tradition, groundhog ice cream. What kind of wine should I get?
Probably a Zinfandel.
I thought with greasy food a hearty red would be more appropriate maybe chianti or possibly a beer

I've never understood it either. Is 6 more weeks of winter a good thing or a bad thing?
It's really quite simple. If Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't, there will only be another 42 days of winter.....
