Two of my favorite quotes the first I happen to strongly agree with the second i

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.
Robert A. Heinlein
Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors... and miss.

Armed men are citizens; unarmed men are subjects. <History shows when citizens are disarmed, tyrants take control.

"Heinlein was a douche"??? Heinlein was one of the great SF authors of the 20th century -- and often showed strong libertarian tendencies to boot! Not always, though: in the 30s he was a socialist, and his political philosophy in "Starship Troopers" could be described as fascist. But his libertarian side was clear in "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" and many of his other great novels of the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
