The Sound of Music is on TV right now and it's got me thinking about the sole remaining item on my bucket list. I've always wanted to take a ship to London, then travel (a month) across Europe. There's a Sound of Music tour in Salzburg. It's financially within reach, but the most vacation I can scrounge up (allowed) is ten days at a shot. Is there anything left on your list ?

If you're in the US, and you have a sick relative you need to take care of, you can use the FMLA to get 12 weeks off. It will be unpaid, but they have to give you your job back when you get back. As long as you meet all the qualifications. :)

1 percent of U.S. businesses say they offer unlimited paid vacation. I know Netflix is one of those companies. They have a lot of workers from India or China who take vacations to go back and visit family in their home country.
