They can expect you to conform to all sorts of societal standards. They can be just plain spoiled and bratty. In their very nature they are conformist, and so they make our entire society also be so.

The best of the San Jose Coffee Girls are just like this one. But she and they also remind me of the sorority girls when I was in college, just like the ones UCSB's Elliot Rodger found so frustrating.
My own experience is that you can't fight them directly. But you also must not ever submit to them. If you do submit in order to placate them, then it will never stop and they will destroy you and never respect you.
They live to enforce societal norms. And if you are already delegitimated, then they will chew you up and spit you out.
The best way to deal with them is to have comrades, so you are not alone. Either they treat you and your group with respect, or they are replaced.
You can't fight them directly, but fight them you must!

But more often than not, that is just attitude. And far too often, it doesn't work out that way.
Young women feel that it is their role in this world to uphold conformist standards.
So for those of us who are not by nature conformists, we have to find ways to band together. Young women can be merciless to one or two of us at a time. But if we can band together and marshal some worldly power, then they will respect us. Women are not very evolved, so by their nature, they worship power.

What Elliot Rodger did accomplished very little, and he destroyed himself. The only good which might come from it, and I've seen zero evidence for this, would be to expose how oppressive some of the college social environments actually are. I've not seen anyone seriously trying to look at this, they only look at Rodger himself, one of the lone nut psychopaths who have had such a large impact on the shaping of our society. No one is looking at how oppressive places like these colleges actually are.
Rodger lost it. He just couldn't stand it any longer. If he had lived long enough to get outside of that environment, then things could have been completely different for him. But as it was he was trapped in a kind of extended adolescence.
For those of us who have made it past that stage and not cracked up, we are the ones who can organize and find ways to gain temporal power and bring these conformity enforcing women into check.
