The pussification of America.....

"Hey dad, am I gunna win a trophy?"
:Yes son, you don't have to practice or even try hard, you'll get the same trophy as the good players"

"Hey dad, Billy called me a name"
"That's hate speech son. I'll call the police"

"Hey dad, you were in the Army. Why are you letting people curse at America and trample our flag?"
"They're liberals son. If you confront them you'll be thrown in Jail"

So on and so forth.......

Participation trophies"

SMH!

I love the new KIA car commercial where the father says "Participation trophy -- but we win every game" and he proceeds to peel off the "participation" plate and write "Champs" on the trophy

Is it any surprise that it was a Korean car company that sponsored this ad.

The US ranked 35 out of 64 in the most recent worldwide math rankings for students taking a standardized test.

Just let the Progressives believe everything is okay.

Participation trophies are for kindergarters. Before first grade there's little point in keeping score.

Your understanding of hate speech is poor. In general someone calling someone else a racial slur is not hate speech. But legal limits on "fighting words" go back to 1942.

Finally, your understanding of the first amendment is also poor. You're free to verbally disagree with someone who desecrates the flag, but you're not free to use force to stop them. The constitution is a beautiful thing and the first amendment clearly protects political protest.

In general, you can be an asshole, you just can't punch and asshole in the face.

^^wrong, The Supreme Court made flag desecration legal in 1989. 47 states ruled otherwise at the time. And I obviously was making fun of todays trends

Motörhead - Massachusetts is one of the most, if not the most liberal/ progressive states and yet if you were to count each state as a separate country then student test scores on the TIMSS (Trendsin International Mathematics and Science Study) for Mass. students are right up there with Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. There is not a single "blue" state above the median score. Why on earth do you think there's a correlation with the political leanings of a country?

It is very simple:
Look at what is happening at Univ. of MO. The patients are running the asylum! The students walk out of class and the door ball team threatened to boycott a game so the administration resigns. Which is what they asked for. Now they want more. If I had been the president of that college I would have:
1} Immediately suspend/fire the coaches.
2} Directed all students to read the school's code of conduct that they ALL agreed to abide by when they enroll and then warn them that any violation of the code of conduct will be dealt with according to the rules set forth in the code up to suspension and/or expulsion. I am quite sure that lawful peaceful assembly does not violate the school code but assault and vandalism does.
3} Close the school down, cancel classes, close the dormitories and suspend ALL campus activities including athletic events until the protests end, new security measures may be instituted and a replacement administration is in place including coaching staff to ensure the safety of the students since there have been very vocal concerns about student and staff safety.
4} I would then resign effective as soon as a suitable replacement is found.

If I were the student reporter that was assaulted by Professor Fugly I would press criminal charges. I would immediately file a lawsuit against her and the school for civil rights violations. I would pursue the school until she was discharged with a negative employment review but continue after her until she agrees to never teach again.

Until someone fights back this assault on US will continue until we will be jailed or beaten for simply disagreeing with the violent special interest mob (several years ago 'Act-Up' burned down several Boy Scout camps to "protest" gays not being allowed to be scout leaders (please note the Scouts never asked preferences as sex is not part of the Scouting program(aka. don't ask don;t tell), that all adults go through a criminal background check, go through youth protection training and never be alone with any youth other than your child). I have known Scout leaders that were gay and sim;y did not mention it to anyone an left their sexuality at home. The Scouts are not about sexual things boys get enough of that every day they are about turning boys to responsible young men...respect for self, god, country and others.
Colleges are ultimately there to prepare young people to join the workforce and should refocus onto that activity. What would happen anywhere else in the world... all would be kicked out.
These kids are being taught that there are no consequences for their actions and that is not true in the real world. ex: If a woman joins ISSS she should expect to be treated like property as is sharia law.
Please note that Professor Fugly "apologized" not for her actions but for getting caught on camera. (if you listen to her carefully chosen words it is a backhanded slap at being forced to apologize and is only sorry for being caught showing her real self... a bigoted fascist.)

TiredTraveler would.have thrown gasoline on a fire.

That said, the mizzu professor is definitely in the wrong. Student protests in public spaces can't ban the media. Indivduals don't have to talk to the media, but we do have freedom of the press. Its also not good tactics to go after the media, because that then becomes the narrative.

Unfortunately with protests legitimate gripes and extreme views get muddled together. The nature of doctorates granted in the US to foreign born individuals means the racial make up of professors will never match the student body. It will be more asian and less black and latino. A black math or science PhD can basically write their own ticket. Universities are starving for more qualified black professors, but the pool is only so deep.

I do think like right wing protests the fringe, loudest elements sometimes.get the most media attention.

No.

The KIA commercial is new and it was big news in the summer when NFL player James Harrisom returned his two son's trophies.

Competition isn't about winning. It's about improving.

Here's a news flash for the progressives and the soccer moms -- Life isn't always fair.

Yeah, that commercial is only the 100th "complaint" about participation trophies. My kids both played travel soccer and until about age 8 they were a good idea. After that even the kids knew they were silly.

Reminds me of grade school. I came in like fourth place and no ribbon and I was crying. My parents told me to deal with it and if I wanted to win next year I had to work harder. I did and next year got first. In school if I wanted a better grade I worked hard and got an A. Way too many sissies now in society. Politically correct people are morons and if ignored will hopefully go away.
