Heat expands things. Is that why days are longer in summer?

not true about balls everywhere shrinking with age. Our sun for example is a ball of fire and will expand with age gobbling up Mercury and Venus if those planets still remain in orbit in their current positions and possibly our own planet as well. We only have 2 or 3 billion years to develop technology to live somewhere else or move our planets before our oceans boil away and our planet gets more like Mercury.
