SPRINGFIELD {MA}- A man accused of threatening employees at a city strip club with a gun was arrested Sunday night by city and state police.
John Peloquin, 51, of South Hadley was arrested at about 8 p.m. near 775 Worthington St., outside the 5th Alarm strip club. The charges that will be filed against him are still pending, Police Lt. Thomas Zarelli said.
The incident started when Peloquin began threatening employees because he was upset at how the manager had spoken to his stepdaughter, who is one of the dancers. He was asked to leave the bar and then allegedly went to his car to retrieve a shotgun, Zarelli said.
When he left the bar, employees locked the doors and called police. Upon arrival Springfield and Massachusetts State Police were able to apprehend Peloquin after a short foot chase.
"Massachusetts State Police took Mr. Peloquin into custody and seized the shotgun," Zarelli said.
Peloquin did have a permit for the shotgun, he said
