Now that the San Francisco Redbook has been closed down by the feds how do research for amps? I'll be visiting the area

Try TER (theeroticreview), though you'll need to buy a VIP (much more expensive than rb's) to see reviews

And.... do all of these alternative web sites (eroticmp.com, rubmaps.com) charge a user fee? I think that redbook was free.

Redbook got closed down because they where laundering money. The site was a combo if paid ads plus reviews. The money from the paid ads was considered proceeds from prostitution given that they where laundering it to hide it.

The other sites mentioned above are basically review sites.
