Listening to some Bob Dylan albums on my iPad, I came across a song that reminds me--in some stanzas at least--of my ATF. To make the point more clear, I've substituted "she's a stripper" for Dylan's "she's an artist."
"She Belongs To Me"
She's got everything she needs
She's a stripper, she don't look back
She's got everything she needs
She's a stripper, she don't look back
She can take the dark out of nighttime
And paint the daytime black.
You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees
You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees
But you will wind up peeking through her keyhole
Down upon your knees.
She never stumbles
She's got no place to fall
She never stumbles
She's got no place to fall
She's nobody's child
The Law can't touch her at all.
She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks
She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks
She's a hypnotist collector
You are a walking antique.
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
For Halloween buy her a trumpet
And for Christmas, give it a drum.
Here's Dylan's song:

Yes. I've got all the early Dylan albums--1960's thru early 70's. That was when he was best.

In 1962 I went to a concert in a small hall at Brown University where an unknown singer named Bob Dylan performed before 24 of us. I also was at the Newport Folk Festival when he "went electric" for the first time. Truly an artist of his times.

I'm just a bit younger. I didn't discover Bob Dylan until
I was in college in the late 70's. Went out and bought all his old stuff.
My favorite

"I want you"
The song must have been written about a stripper.

Masters Of War always gave me the shivers.

"Just Like a Woman" is another great song.
She takes just like a woman, yes she does
She makes love just like a woman, yes she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl.

I never got Dylan. The music he wrote, yeah, but not him.

^Not many ever thought they did "get him". Maybe because he tried so hard to keep it that way, to maintain his mystique.

I was referring to his voice. I always found it more annoying than anything else. Most of his music I thought was pretty good, but it would have been better if he'd gotten somebody else to sing it...
