OT, sorta - Ugly Girls
ReadyPayerOne
I was inspired by Clubber's 5 body 10 face vs 10 body 5 face discussion.
To the comic book fans in the group - that discussion reminded me of a comic by Dan Clowes. Indie offbeat and at times hilarious comic book artist who created Ghost World and Art School Confidential. Both of which were made into movies, with the former featuring Scarlett Johansson's breakout role.
Anyway, many years ago he did this 3 page comic preaching the virtues of Ugly Girls. I found scans online, with the link below. Most of the time I'm pretty shallow when it comes to looks, but I've sometimes found myself unable to pull my eyes off an ugly girl, civilian and stripper, because there was just something alluring about her. Despite a nose that was a little two big, a slightly horsey face, etc. I was turned on. Maybe her flaw made her look exotic to me, or maybe she rocked her ugliness with confidence. Think Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. Kind of an ugly broad, but strangely hot.
Anyway, here's a link to the comic. Website is in Spanish, but the comic is in English:

Anyone ever found themselves mysteriously drawn to an ugly girl?

I should clarify that it was the Mia Wallace character that I found sort of ugly at first impression. Or not conventionally beautiful. That black bob accentuated her nose. She was wearing black pants and a white oxford that made her look mildly androgynous and stork like. But she was hot.
Uma Thurman is straight up gorgeous/smoking in some other movies - Gattaca, The Avengers ...
There's straight-up, unmitigated ugly, and then there's a girl with an imperfection that keeps her from being conventionally beautiful, which is what you seem to be describing. Some of those imperfections can be quite endearing, like a crooked tooth.
Which reminds me, there's a whole sub-genre of Japanese porn featuring girls with "snaggleteeth", lol
I'm reminded of two instances:
1) in college, there was a girl in one of my classes who was probably a 5 face and 6 body. Overweight, but not so fat that she lost her feminine figure; she still had her waist. Skin was pale and kind of unhealthy looking, like there was always a light cover of sweat. Hair always looked a bit greasy. Overall, not hideous but sex wouldn't be the first thing you thought of. Anyway, she was fucking smart, and confident, and kind of brash. By the end of the semester I totally would have fucked her.
2) I was riding the subway one day and there was this girl who was skinny, gangly, and kind of had a long face. But she had a cool style and was rocking her look with confidence. Her vibe was basically "yeah, I know I got beat with the ugly stick. Fuck you, get over it. You still want me."
Maybe it's as simply that I find confidence sexy. Or that I'm a horn dog who can rationalize fucking anything that moves.
Body of a Goddess, Face from hell."

This particular bouncer was bigger than me. he probably weighed in close to 300 and looked very muscular. He did not look fat. I decided it was probably better not to tell him anything.
