LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are looking for the shooter responsible for killing a man outside of a Lexington strip club.

It happened around 2:40 Wednesday morning at Divas Gentlemens Club on Russell Cave Road. Police say there was a disorder inside of the club earlier in the night, and then another fight broke out as people were leaving.

"It seemed like everything was going to be fine. Until later in the evening when all of the parties exited, there was another confrontation. At that time several shots were fired at the victim," says Sherelle Roberts, with Lexington Police.

A witness told WKYT's Whitney Wetzel that he saw a man shoot at the victim a total of eight times. Police say a third man, who knew the victim, returned fire at the shooter. They're not sure whether anyone else was shot.

The victim has been identified as Curtis Simmons, 33, of Lexington. Police say he died of multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and upper torso.

This is the second shooting outside of Divas in less than two months. A man was shot and killed in this same parking lot back in September. In that murder, police say surveillance cameras captured the shooter on video.

Police are also looking at surveillance video of this shooting. They're hoping it will give them more information about what happened.

"We're going to be following up with witnesses as well as obtaining some surveillance video so we can get a better idea of exactly what happened," adds Roberts.

Police have their hands full as this is the third homicide to happen in Lexington in less than a week.

"This particular situation appears to be an isolated incident that was the direct cause of some individuals who got into a fight," says Roberts. "It basically turned very, very violent."

Police are still looking for the person responsible for this homicide.

They believe the suspect got away in a red Dodge Avenger with Florida plates. Just after noon on Wednesday, the Avenger was found on Rodgers Road, but no suspects.

Repeal the 2nd Amendment and confiscate and destroy all civilian possessed guns and guns from retailers that sell them without proper precautions, PARTICULARLY gun shows. Outlaw the National Rifle Association.

One of the local girls and I were talking about this yesterday. She'd actually been working at Cowboy's, which is apparently near by, earlier, after being told by Diva's that they had enough dancers for the night. Dodged a bullet there, literally.

Repeal the Fourth Amendment so in-American fucks can be prosecuted for stuff we don't even know about yet.
