not a fave of mine but i'll admit jerry bailey is the best rider i've ever seen ride a horse ( i started in 1992 so never really saw cordero or shoemaker or cauthen).
Jerry Bailey and Angel Cordero won me a lot of money, although nothing was more thrilling for me than watching Randy Romero ride Go For Wand, until she broke down.
Been to one horse race in my life. Hit a 40-1 shot with only $14 on the bet. Know nothing about horse racing but Shoemaker, Borell, and Cauthern seemed to be cool on the tube. I would go to the Kentucky Derby just to "hat watch".
As an amateur handicapper and often horse owner I appreciate the thread. My favorite of all time - Eddie D. Pat Day and Calvin Borell have won me more money at Churchill Downs than all other jockys combined.
Calvin rode one of my horses two years ago and did a really bad job. But it was an honor having a Hall Of Fame jockey in the irons on one of my horses. Paddock pictures are really cool!
