Whose side should management take?

(Forgive me if this is more "Inside Baseball" than we care to get into, but we need a new topic.)

At a club I frequent, management seems to always side with customers in any dispute with strippers. For example, when girls complain that a a guy is groping too much, the manager tells them they should take him to the VIP. (Gotta admit I like that one.) Some of his edicts sound beyond the pale, but the club actually has good reputation among dancers as being well run. The more outrageous quotes I hear about are likely the manager being facetious about all the whining he hears. And you might think this would lead to unlimited mileage, but although it's very good, it's still up to the girl. So in the long run, which would you rather see and why?

I think it all depends on who's all involved. I know at my favorite club, the manager/owner has gone to bat for me when I was upset. But not all customers are me, and some are going to be as whiny as the dancers. It all depends on who is all involved.

Gotta take it on a case by case basis. Some girls are whiners (always will be) and others have a legitimate problem that needs resolution. OTOH... some customers are problem children that need to be dealt with while others get a little too grabby and need to be reminded of the rules by management which brings them back into line. Being in management (not SC management) I know the customer is NOT always right. Backing an employee who is right goes a long ways toward happiness in the workplace.

Generally, the side which maximizes the club's profit over the long term. Exceptions should be obvious.
