OT: The War in Chicago

Do you REALLY think ALL the GUN advocates here are going to watch this indictment of their views Papi???

I'm glad it's getting national attention. Many weekends, especially during warm weather, there have been 20 or more shootings in Chicago and there us rarely a blip in the news. Yet the Jody Arias trial gets wall-to-wall coverage.

Who on here supports criminals illegally selling drugs and having guns? Jackass.

Come on guys. Criminals who shoot people have a conscience you know. If there was a law passed making guns illegal they would feel very bad about not turning theirs in. Eventually the guilt would get to them and they would turn it in. Then, after that, they would feel good about what they did and not try to obtain a replacement on the black market.

I'm spending most of this coming week in Chicago. A great city with lots of things to do. Only the strip clubs are lame.

Downtown Chicago is safe, and even women can walk alone at night in the downtown area. Don't try that in Detroit.

The people who are in danger are south side gang members, who get guns illegally, and south side honest residents, who are prevented from arming and protecting themselves by unconstitutional laws. Of course, the hypocritical politicians who pass those laws live in safe neighborhoods. The mayor loves to tell honest citizens that guns make them unsafe, but everywhere he goes he is guarded by uniformed and plain-clothes police who carry--you guessed it!--guns.

A number of people have presented very good and reasonable challenges to alutard's position. Now does anyone think he will address these challenges at all? Nope. He will just duck from this thread waiting instead to take a potshot in another thread where he will present his position with zero logical or factual backing as it where as a self-evident pontification from God. (Well actually alutard doesn't believe in god but, in his opinion, from his "mind" is the closest one can get to directly from God.)

But let's see you prove me wrong alutard. Be a man for once and try and stand up and defend your position.

By last June, 2012, 23+ people were stabbed to death in Chicago. Can't blame all those stabbings on Mexicans.

Note that alutard has not only proposed a ban on new guns and wants to much beyond even a registry, with the risks that Spic noted. alutard wants to see actual confiscation of existing guns. Policemen kicking in people's doors if they get a tip that they are gun owners. Seriously, hard to think of anything more psycho than that.
