Authorities on Wednesday raided Platinum Plus, an Allentown strip club, and arrested 11 dancers on prostitution-related charges, saying they offered undercover officers sex acts in the "Champagne Room," according to court documents.
To get into the room, a guest at Platinum Plus would pay between $300 to $700 for a bottle of champagne, the records say. That bottle also bought them an hour with a dancer who would offer sexual services, authorities said.
According to court records, the dancers charged between $500 to $1,000 for oral sex or sexual intercourse.
Witnesses said police and state Liquor Control Enforcement agents swarmed Platinum Plus on S. Airport Road around 5:30 p.m.
According to the court records:
On Wednesday, one of the undercover officers posed as a wine distributor and arranged the meeting at the strip club with several Platinum Plus dancers. The fake wine distributor told the dancers he was bringing several clients to the strip club. Those clients were also undercover officers and every one of them was offered some kind of sex act by 11 dancers.
The investigation began when an anonymous complaint was received by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. The complaint said exotic dancers working at Platinum Plus were offering sex acts to patrons for money.
Prior to Wednesday's raid, several other undercover visits were made. In those visits, dancers also offered sex acts in the Champagne Room.
The Champagne Room is actually several rooms that is elevated from the remainder of the dance floor. The only furniture in the room is a couch.
All 11 women were arraigned this morning by District Judge Jacob Hammond. They were charged with criminal solicitation to promote prostitution and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
