Joe there's a whole host of reasons people stay with abusive partners. It's not relegated to dancers and doubtful it has anything to do with being irresponsible, though they may very well be that.
Offer a ride to the women's shelter and find a new favorite shadow.
She doesn't sound like she wants to be helped.
It's her life. I wouldn't try to interfere with whatever crap she wants to have in it. She might not be working in a strip club if she was happily married living off her husbands income.
I guess with a dancer with a violent pimp, you can justify being her customer, since you're helping her to avoid a beating for not making enough money.

It has been my experience that strippers OFTEN don't make the best choice in boyfriends. Seems to fall right in line with most of the other bad decisions they make.
The most comical is the boyfriend that insists on accompanying the stripper to work because he wants to make sure she doesn't get too cozy with one of her clients. You can often see them loudly arguing in the smoking room or talking together in the main room. Either way she's not earning any money and she usually loses her job within 2 weeks.
