Too many whores in NYC...

A married Queens couple ran a prostitution ring for six years in the Boston area -- because New York had too much competition, a source close to the case told The Post.
"They thought the New York market was too saturated with illicit massage parlors so they opened up 'rub-and-tugs' in the Boston area," the source said.
Xiang Hua Zhang, 29, and Hong Wei, 39, allegedly posted ads in various Chinese newspapers and on Craigslist, luring Asian women from New York and other states.
The FBI caught wind of the case after one of the hookers got pinched in a federal matter and spilled her guts to investigators, according to the source.
Zhang recently pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is awaiting sentencing on Oct. 11, according to his attorney, Keith Sullivan.
His wife is discussing a plea agreement with prosecutors, said her lawyer, Tom Kenniff.

In both cases, both sides are woefully uninformed about the subject because they're too busy protecting their sacred cows. If both sides only realized that if the sex industry was regulated and taxed, many of society's ills would go away. The business would fund it's own medical needs, pleasing both sides, and the tax collected would drop property tax rates by 80%, pleasing conservatives-but also making them cringe because at some point kids would have to be told that schools are funded through the actions of sex workers.
In any case, NYC does have a lot of AMPs, but they're quite discrete - no gaudy signs, etc. Instead, the signs are usually engraved brass plaques on the sides of buildings and you really gotta know what you're looking for. Even then, they're very easy to pass right on by. Once there, you have to be buzzed in and usually walk up a flight or two of stairs. So, the whole deal strikes about as much of a balance as possible - providing some relief for guys like me, but it's not 'in your face,' thus sparing the hypocritical conservatives who probably still use them, or other clandestine services.
