Baltimore help needed

Sunday, July 17, 2011 5:14 PM
I live in Chicago. The clubs here (as everyone in the world knows) suck! I have a few vacation days to burn. I thought about Detroit and Washington Park, but both seem a little on the dangerous side of the pendulum. After checking out reviews here, I became interested in the Baltimore scene. Can anyone please elaborate on the the Baltimore scene? Is it safe? Is it clean? If you've been there, what are your thoughts... Thanks!!

Personally I would not waste my time going to Baltimore. The scene is hit or miss. I've had good times and bad. The "block" is a waste of time. Most of the clubs totally suck. Hustler has a few good looking girls but was very overpriced. If you do go, my favorite club is Scores. It is a few miles from the Block, but is a nice clean club that is well run. The few really good times I have had were at this club. Trouble is that the girls seem to come and go. I've been on nights where there have been great looking girls and I had a blast in the VIP area. Then there were a couple of times that I've been and couldn't find a single girl that I wanted to get a dance from. If you are going to travel just for clubs, go to Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Vegas.

It depends on what you're lookin' for and what type (ethnicity)...I live in Chicago but I'm from Detroit and lived in Baltimore and been to E. St Louis...I could give reasons for going or not going to any of those places...honestly, if it were my va-days, I would go to ATL or Miami...ie. places with other entertainment in case the strip scene is not what you expected or want variety...for that reason, I would take Washington Park off the list...I've had good times, but options are limited compared to Detroit or B-more...B-more is cool the first few times you go if you've never seen anything like the Block before but the whole "drink" approach to doing business leaves a lot to be desired...I'd go to Detroit cuz of variety and casinos for change of pace, plus you can go to Windsor, Cananda...Danger wise, I feel they all have some the shadiest, darkest corners of any city, though I thought the clubs in E St Louis was by far the darkest terrain (Washington Park is a step up, but not by much IMHO)...I think Uncle Leo is less of a problem in Detroit depending on where you go...

Detroit is not as bad as it is portrayed. I have lived here all my life, and I don't deny it has its' dangers, but any large old city does. The strip clubs in the surrounding suburbs in Wayne County are fine. The Eight Mile clubs in Detroit are OK, there is valet parking and if you don't have your head in your ass, you'll be fine. Don't miss The Penthouse Club on 8 Mile if you come.

I'd check out Players Club (aka Wagon Wheel) or Gold Club. Both are off the block and are completely different clubs. Players Club is a small BYOB private-membership club with a real hands on experience that won't disappoint. And Gold Club is an upscale club with various private room options, much more like a Vegas-type club (and expense).

I second vincemichaels recommendation. If you try The Penthouse Club bring plenty of $$$.

Don't forget some of the clubs in your back yard...Industrial Strip in Hammond and Club 390 in Chicago Heights have some very good looking women, and are fairly high mileage clubs. Extras are not generally on the table, but that all depends on the girl and the night... As Vince said, Detroit gets worse press than it deserves. There are areas of Chicago that are as bad or worse as those you will find in Detroit. The clubs there deserve their reputation, you'll have to look hard to find higher mileage...

You can drive from Chicago to Detroit in the morning, and have all afternoon and night for clubbing. Detroit does have dangerous areas, and if safety is your main concern, you can stick to the clubs in the suburbs. Check out the TUSCL reviews for clubs in these suburbs: Dearborn, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Romulus, and Southgate. The clubs are in commercial areas that aren't attractive but aren't dangerous either, and the dancers will be just as friendly and easy as in Detroit itself.

scatter is giving good advice by suggesting the Player's Club. It is, hands down, my favorite club in Baltimore.

I think you can find whatever you want in Baltimore. Classy clubs with minimal mileage include Scores, Gentlemen's Gold Club, and Night Shift. Players Club, Millstream Inn, and McDoogals offer attractive friendly companionship and low-mileage laps. And then there's the Block, unique in the country. You may hate it, you may love it, but you should at least experience it once.

Go to San Diego. Walk across the border into Tijuana. You will have a blast, and it will be cheaper than any other city in the US. More for less.

I was in Detroit last week and the visit was rather week (see reports), I'm in St. Louis now and last night the Washington Park (Sunday) was weak, I will be back at it tonight to see if was just a weak night thing. I would agree with above, get a cheap flight to San Diego but stay out of the USA SC's head accross the boarder, bust bang for the buck plus San Diego is great. Oh BTW I have not experience with Baltimore, sorry.

As always bring plenty of $$$ for a good time. Only cheap skates don't walk in with something around or above the daily ATM withdrawal max. As for Baltimore, I like Ritz near the Harbor and Players though in a bit more industrial area. I've also had a good time at Showcase Theater, but that is more towards DC.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I read each post with anticipation. I have looked into flying down to San Diego and to Houston. Airfare is crazy expensive. MIA and ALT, again airfare is high and if I'm gonna get groped, I want it to be a stripper and not some TSA agent named Barney! A few of the local clubs (IS, Club O) are okay, but I need a few days away from here. I checked out wwpmi's link, thanks! I will re-consider Detroit. If the Detroit SC scene gets boring, I can always put on my Blackhawks jersey and go to a Tigers game (that would be hours of entertainment...LOL...) or I could make run for the border and visit Caesar's Place in Windsor. Baltimore too has it's interesting points. I have never seen "the block." Might be worth visiting. I rarely get to the east coast, so that might make for a good time too! Which every path I follow, you can expect a few "field reports" when I get back. If you have any more thoughts or suggestions, I'd appreciate them!! Thanks again everyone!!!
