Guard at Tampa strip club shoots patron who tossed beer bottle, police say

A security guard at a Tampa strip club shot a patron who threw a beer bottle during an altercation early Saturday, police said.

The clubgoer was leaving Flashdancers at 4202 W. Cayuga St. just before 3 a.m. and tossed the bottle at the guard but missed, according to police. The guard then opened fire, hitting the patron twice and causing injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. The clubgoer was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for surgery.

Criminal charges are pending in the case, police said. tampabay.com

Another shooting at a strip club-note the time-3 a.m. or after, as usual.

If I'd been the guard, I just would've beaten the shit out of the asshole. Much more effective than shooting him.

The guard will have a tough time justifying shooting at a patron who, after he threw the one bottle, no longer posed any threat requiring the use of deadly force. Maybe there's more to this.
