Seattle - Update: New Strip Club
I feel bad for the restaurant owners- it sounds like they were somewhat blindsided, although they had to suspect their lease wasn't going to be renewed if it was up in a couple of months and they hadn't been able to work out the renewal. Of course, if that stupid 800-foot rule wasn't in place, then Jiggles wouldn't have closed, and the people who bought the Seven Seas building wouldn't now be forcing out the restaurant to open their club- it sounds like they bought it two years ago knowing the lease would expire soon and it wasn't near schools/daycares. That's not a prime location, but the city is kind of forcing anyone who wants to open a strip club to knock out locations like these. It'll be good to see more choices open up, although until they actually open up either/both places as clubs, I'm not holding my breath. I see the prudish-nanny press is already trying to paint the story of how it's not legal- sadly reporting there are no schools nearby, but happily pointing out the construction license isn't the same as a permit, and their may need to be more reviews, oh joy! Fucking Seattle...

Atlanta suburb
And then there were 6.
There's the downtown Vu, the downtown "Little Darlings" (eh, it's another Vu), the Lake City Vu, and the SafeCo field "Dreamgirls" (eh, it's also a Vu). There's also the independents, the shameful Centerfolds (a total dive), Sands (high mileage, but weird club and older women unless things have changed), and the Dancing Bare (apparently a crack whore hangout). So we have 7 clubs, 4 owned by the McDonalds of strip clubs where the women't aren't hot but have SUCH an attitudee, and 3 poorly run indies of wildly varying mileage and pretty low-caliber talent. Basically, this place is a wasteland.

Such bullshit. There is a chance that the owner, Bob Davis, will open up the Rick's building- which is obviously zoned properly, and has been sitting idle for almost a year. But still... the people of Seattle don't care about this stuff- as evidenced by the 4-foot-rule getting shot down by the voters themselves- and it's a very small and very vocal minority (and politicians who think this is an easy win and point in their favor) that tries to shut down all strip clubs. Well, there's always the escorts...

Best West Coast city for an "extra" vacation?
Thanks again for all your advise, guys, this is super helpful. CTQWERTY, I'd consider Detroit (or Houston) for the unbelievable stories, but something like this that you even wrote is what keeps me away: http://www.tuscl.net/br.php?BID=369 Even though samsung1 chimed in to say "Holly Hood" has not only a super high mileage scene, but some really hot chicks... it sounds like Detroit is increasingly dying as a city, and I just don't see myself going there. SF or COI sound like the best bets in terms of hotties + BBBJ; the downside to COI/LA is that everything is so spread out, so it'd be a lot of driving around. SF I can see myself having something to do in between long afternoons/nights at the club. I really, truly don't mind spending ~200 or so for a great BBBJ from a smokin' hot girl. I'd rather do that and drop a couple of thou on a hell of a Christmas present to myself, than to end up in some other city and be disappointed with the club scene *and* bored/scared of the city itself. It's, uh, also easier to explain to friends, etc, why I'm taking a trip to SF than it is to explain a trip to Detroit or Houston. So, with SF as my likely winner, SF veterans: is SFredbook.com the best resource, or here, or what, to find the highest mileage, best times, and best dancers (or more importantly, who to avoid as a ROB)?

Best West Coast city for an "extra" vacation?
Thanks guys- I think SF sounds like the best bet, as it's a cool city, it's a day's train ride away, and there are a few clubs that will have BBBJ hotties. TJ is probably a lot cheaper, so I'll spend time reading the TJ club reviews to see if it's worth the extra distance. shadowcat & Dougster: yes, it's a protest thing (and BBBJ isn't dangerous, but even if it were it's a free choice danger I undertake as a free individual). Sorry to get all political, but fer chrissakes... I put up with the shoes off bullshit, I even put up with the throwing away my toothpaste. But the pornoscanners and the groping? No, not unless I have to travel for a) a death in the family or b) am absolutely required to fly for business. Otherwise, fuck this stupid country eroding its rights, and fuck the government and the TSA for doing it. It doesn't make us safer, but it makes it easier for us to slip into police-state like behavior. America's not a dictatorship, but if any did decide to flip that switch they'd find the heat was on and the fridge was full. Someone recently reminded me of this line from the 1990 movie, "Hunt for Red October": Capt. Vasili Borodin: I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state. Do they let you do that? Captain Ramius: I suppose. Capt. Vasili Borodin: No papers? Captain Ramius: No papers, state to state. Capt. Vasili Borodin: Well then, in winter I will live in... Arizona. Actually, I think I will need two wives. Captain Ramius: Oh, at least. Hard to believe that 20 years ago we were laughing about how silly Russian restrictions on freedom were.
