A dancer was hospitalized in serious condition Thursday after someone possibly spiked her drink with a drug when she was sitting with customers at a North Toledo strip club, authorities said.
"If that's what really happened, it has happened before but not often," Toledo police Sgt. Phil Toney said.
Lindsay Witthun, 21, whose last known address was listed as Cadillac, Mich., was in serious condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesman.
Ms. Witthun, who had just performed several dances, was sitting with two customers at Platinum Showgirls, 5801 Telegraph Rd., about 1 a.m. when she began vomiting, behaving erratically, and complaining of chest pain before losing consciousness, according to the police report.
Witnesses told police one of the men was white, in his 30s or 40s, of thin build, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and with brown hair. He was wearing jeans, a sweater, and a green hat.
The other man was described as also white, in his early 50s, of a heavier build, and with white hair in a pony tail, according to the police report.
Sergeant Toney said it would take at least a few days before toxicology results reveal what caused the dancer to lose consciousness and whether her drink was indeed spiked as stated in a police crime log.
