I just checked the website of my favourite Calgary club to see if a road trip is in order this week. Two of the dancers were sporting particularly outrageous nicknames;
"Justin Cyder"
"Helen Bedd"
Anybody top these with even more outlandish names? I may have to see if the fair "Miss Justin" lives up to her sobriquet. Even "Miss Bedd" might be worth a go.
The pioneers of stripping, (aka burlesque) had great stage names, Blaze Starr, Gypsy Rose Lee, Fannie Foxe, the 'Argentine Firecracker', Candy Barr, Busty Brown, Cupcake Cassidy, just to name a few. There is a website, www.streetswing.com if you want more history of one of the oldest professions, stripping.
The Century Club (1996-1999) actually had dancers using their real names, Sally, Kirsten, Myra (et.al.). That continues to be mind blowing to me as some had some very bland first names.
My favorite dancer name for a dancer that I have seen in person is Lotta Topp. The ironic thing about her was, while she did indeed have massive boobs, her claim to fame was a two inch clit. When I saw her as a featured dancer at a club in Saginaw, MI she came around to every customer and allowed us to fondle her breasts and then pulled down her G-string to show her mamouth clit. At this point we all forgot about her "Lotta Topp."
At Baby Dolls in Dallas, just 2 weeks ago, a dancer walked up to me and introduced herself as "Jingle Bells." She really uses that name, even has a web site.
When a dancer introduces me with a stupid made up name like "Sunshine" I no longer have interest in her. She is taking the strip club policies and fantasy disney rules way too serious and too paranoid about stalkers.
Back in the 70's when Biloxi Mississippi was pretty wide open, there was a club that had a sign stating that one of the featured dancers was Ophelia Twat.

last commentThese were stripper stage names, not porn star names?
Haven't run across this before. Looks like a whole new area of study in stripper onomatology.
