Man killed at Atlanta strip club

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say a 32-year-old man was shot to death by a security guard at an Atlanta strip club.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim of the Friday morning shooting st the Foxy Lady in southeast Atlanta as Julius Geter.

Police say a preliminary investigation reveals that several men were fighting inside the club and were escorted out of the building by a security guard.

They say 1 of the men returned to the front of the club with an exposed handgun. They say the guard fired in what appears to be self-defense, and 1 of the bullets struck Geter in the chest.

Police say Geter was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    Is it normal for strip club "security" to be armed?

    All depends on where you happen to be. When I stopped by Club Wax one afternoon while in ATL there were a couple of guys out in the parking lot, at least one of them security, goofing around with a glock in broad daylight. I figured as long as it wasn't pointed directly at me then no biggie and just walked into the club.

    Steve229, here in Columbus most of the gentlemen's clubs are located in the northwest or northeast part of columbus. The ones in the northwest are in nice areas and do not have armed security, let alone any security (kahoot's, cols gold). The ones in the northeast along route 161 area are ghetto, trashy, and full of ROBs, and yes they have armed guards (Club X, DollHouse, etc.)

    Houston clubs have armed security. Texas = guns, don't play unless you intend to pay.
