On a related note, a couple dancers have told me they have stripper poles at home to practice moves on. One girl was stressing out because her Grandparents (who didn't know about her work) were coming to visit her, and she was trying to figure out how she would explain it.
My favorite dancer trashed one of her knees in a pole at home incident.
Took me a little while to realize it because she didn't give the details in so many words. I was at her house one day and noticed the thing was in the corner of the room and not set up. A tension type pole like the one that came down in the video link. I was out of town when she landed herself in the hospital, but the situation clicked when she wanted nothing to do with setting it up again.
And yes, stripper poles by the bed are good thing.
