Spearmint Rhino pays Strippers in California

mr.wonderful to single moms and college age girls...
I am a long-time fan of the spearmint rhino clubs in the Los Angeles area. being in California the law changed at the beginning of 2019. basically (as I have heard it) the dancers now need to be employees of the club.

now this is strictly my opinion and not based on absolute fact that I am not privy too.

in my visits and my reading of reviews and articles on tuscl and other websites some other clubs and brands are handling it in different ways than what I understand spearmint rhino is doing it. A couple of the dancers have told me that they now have to meet a quota before they get their pay for their dances. One girl specifically said that on a VIP dance she doesn’t get paid for it at all until she meets her quota. I guess the quota is a combination of lap dances and VIP dances. and maybe drink sales figure into the quota too.

I have heard in the past that the spearment rhino girls used to have to pay a stage fee and then would get approximately 1/2 of the lapdance and VIP fee. then of course they were (and probably still are) having to tip out the various staff and manager. now i’ve noticed that since the beginning of the year that lap dance prices have remain the same but the VIP prices have gone up. so I’m sure at the club is making even more money and probably at the expense of the dancers (not to mention us customers)

The hottest and most popular dancers probably can handle a financial situation such as this much better than the other dancers that are not quite so hot or popular. i’ve also noticed that the tip requests seem to be more often and of the higher range now.

it all seems very complicated to me.

I think this is going to make it tough. Anything which puts the money onto the books, or lessens the girls need for your greenbacks is going to make it hard.

I dance at spearmint rhino in coi so I can explain a bit. We have a quota 120 to meet that goes to club. Everything after that is split 50/50 between the dancer and the club. We keep our tips but tip out a few people and that amount varies by how well you did that day. Personally, the changes have not affected me at all and I really like working there. Hopefully that helped answer some questions you had💋

^^^^ Glad things are going well. Sounds reasonable to me. But personally not sure that you have seen the worst of it.

Makes sense that it would be the big chains which have to change the most from their preferred ways.

    Thanks MisterWonderful,

@hunny Wow it kinds of sounds outrageous to me... sounds like clubs keep most of the money... around 60-70% ... of dancers hard work... for providing what a platform?... it may be what it is but sounds unfair to me... clubs should only get 10-20% Royalty... rest should go to u guys...
