Becoming a Exotic Dancer 101

Tuesday, February 17, 2015 12:00 AM
So hello my name is China, I've been an exotic dancer for over a year now & I MUST say there are some things you should know when considering being a dancer. Number one, BE CONFIDENT! I can't stress this enough, how you feel about yourself reflects on how you perform as an entertainer. Always look your best so you feel your best. Number two, NO REAL NAMES. Til this day my manager doesn't even know my real name. It's your choice if you want to share it but I wouldn't recommend it. You never know who will be your CEO in 5 to 10 years from now. Besides I enjoy the idea of having an alter ego. And last but not least Number three, SAVE SAVE SAVE! From my first two weeks in I probably made $250 ;( which is pretty bad for the average dancer. Not to mention I was probably 30lbs heavier but after the first month I started to notice how much I brought in and how much I could spend I would save half my money one night and enjoy the money the next night I worked. After a year I have over 7,000 dollars saved.

Thanks. If I take up stripping, I'll remember this.

Are you sure you are not a career counselor? Such wisdom and clarity could not be a dancers perspective. Find another forum This is for consumers not practitioners, unless they are asking questions.

Never give real nsmes -- even to the manager? How you gonna be part of the class-action suit when you sue the club for being improperly classified as an independent contractor?

Whoa! $250 in two weeks. Heck, if you even remotely look like your from China, I would have probably hooked you up with that in a couple of hours. I love the asians.

No real names. Taxes, oh wait, they cost us taxpayers money, lousy dancers!!! Well, except the Asian ones.

I would have thought by now that every club in the country would demand to see ID so they can prove that the dancers are at least 18 (or 21). There have been several cases in my area where clubs lost their gambling or liquor licenses due to having underage dancers. In one case a club manager and bouncer were convicted of running an underage prostitute through the club. On the other hand, as StripClubHound regularly points out in his blog, a lot of strip club managers don't appear to be too bright.

So you're saying when I talk you into meeting me at Motel 6 for some hot sex and you tell me your "real name" it's really not your real name? I usually pay by check so you may wanna give me your real name. On a serious note good for you on saving money, most of your coworkers should take your advice

Once you have gotten really sweet with a stripper, they wouldn't mind telling you their real name if they have decided that you are not a creep. I have known more stripper's real name, its not even funny anymore. You show me a stripper that know how to save money, I will show you a pig that can climb tree.

You're kinda perpetuating an Asian stereotype with the save save save thing. At least you didn't say to never go faster than 25 MPH when driving to the strip club. I guess another advantage of being an Asian stripper is, when the other strippers hassle you, you can get them back by eating their little dogs.

Haha it's beyond hilarious how everyone thinks I'm "Asian" because my "stage" name is china. God people try coming outside of that little box you call your mind.

@Chinatown0807. in addition to being a racist idiot through and through @ilbbaicnl is a leftist dimwit so the idea of personal responsibility (ie. saving) is a concept well beyond his grasp

We know you really use to be Chinese. You just got a volume discount cause you got the operation to make your eyes round at the same time you got your implants. Your I-love-selling-people-$2-umbrellas-that-break-in-the-first-gust-of-wind hostility betrays your true ethnicity.

Baicin is the type of pissant who bullies women on line and then in the real life feels urine dribble down his leg if someone glares at him.

Chinatown0807 you say 30+ pounds when you started? How did you lose weight? I know a lot of new girls that get into dancing say they lost a lot of weight when they started by dancing around the poll, good workout!

China, I whole heartedly agree about saving. So many girls I have met never save and therefore never have any real "exit stadegy" when it comes to dancing, and they are the ones we usually see that are still dancing when they are well beyond when they should but have nothing to fall back on. Many I have met make a lot, I mean ALOT of money initially, but spend it just as fast or faster than they make it, mostly on cars, drugs, alcohol, partying, jewelry, dead beat boyfriends, etc. etc. etc. When the time comes that they should leave the industry they can't. Some I know or have knew initially thought that the money would never end, or someone would eventually take care of them, or they would start saving next week, but as we all know, it rarely ever happens. Sounds like you've got your head on strait.

@shailynn yes I started off working 4-5 nights a week which meant up to 35 hours on a stage in heels practicing pole tricks, basically working out per week. I didn't notice the weight loss until this past summer. Now I go to a gym probably twice a week and run just to keep my stamina up.

You'll never enjoy your thousands. Whey you retire from stripping you'll use your thousands to open a fake nail salon where you'll work 16 hours a day until you die. Course, maybe that is the Chinese idea of fun.

@ilbbaicnl damn a Chinese woman gave you HIV didn't she? :( I'm sorry you have to be alone the rest of your life. Maybe the after life will be better for you.

Fortunately it turned out to be HIU, a cheap knock-off of HIV made in Taiwan. It disintegrates after killing only one T-cell, so I'm good. I like cats so in the afterlife I'll enjoy the company of the souls of all the cats you stir-fried and ate.

$7000? The fact is that most people save at least this amount in a vanilla style job, with less personality damaging ramifications. Good for you if this is the best employment u can find. I saved $7000 last week when I got a bonus check. Fact is that people must save 20-30% of what they earn to keep pace of inflation over a 30 year career. If u make $50k, u better have a lifestyle that saves $10-15k and you only spend about $35-40k of it.

Don't forget the most important lesson China and this is to take any thoughts about being gay right out the front door of the club. Lesbos don't sell tickets to the dance so don't mention it and sure as hell don't make eyes with your girlfriend when a guy pays you to sit down with him. I don't care about your sexual preferences outside of the club but don't bring it in to the club if you ever want me to tip.

Just a little "FYI" guys. Every single Asian girl that I have ever seen working in a gentlemen's club in Dayton Ohio is 100% gay as hell. Trust me on that one. On top of this all of them are 100% assholes. They are about as cocky an SOB as I have ever seen. It is a shame really! I've never seen such outright gay arrogance before in my life. Not surprisingly, many of them disappear and also, most of the other girls hate them.
