7 Ways To Stay Sane While Dancing

Dancing as a career has its perks but there can also be some downsides to the industry that can break you if you allow. Make sure that you keep things going smoothly by taking care of your most important asset = YOU
Here are a few tips on keeping sane while dancing:
-
Take up a passion or hobby - do something outside of work that you enjoy and that makes you feel good about yourself.
-
Associate with others who are successful - learn from the dancers who are successful. Model their success but add a touch of your own uniqueness. Don't spend too much time with others who are negative, unsuccessful, or have bad attitudes. Their mindset will rub off on you.
-
Get Sunlight - If you work late afternoons or nights then you miss out on enjoying the sunlight because the club is dark on the inside lit with artificial lighting. Natural sunlight exposure (in safe amounts with sunscreen) stimulate the bodys vitamin d and seretonin both which are linked to mood. Wake up early as possible and use your time wisely to catch some sun before heading to work.
-
Take care of your body - not only will you feel better when you exercise regularly but your body will become more toned and you'll attract more customers to you. Looking good help you to feel good about yourself. Also eating right in addition to exercise will help you keep a svelte, appealing figure.
-
Stay prepared - nothing is more stressful than missing a part of your outfit, or leaving your makeup bag at home, or running out of deodorant, etc. Keep you belongings organized and stock up the night before you go into work. Planning helps cut down on anxiety caused by last minute arrangements. Plan your schedule a week in advance, plan your outfits, plan your travels, etc.
-
Develop and maintain your inner strength - confidence and assertiveness goes a long way. Put your needs as a priority and avoid dancers and customers with an agenda to tear you down mentally or physically.
-
Get Support - if you realize you have trouble with your career and your life then by all means, get help. The sooner the better but you have to be wise enough to recognize when to take the first step. Never suffer alone. Managers, friends, family, therapists are all examples of sources that can help you in times of need.

Sorry to tell you but using sun screen blocks your body's ability to make vitamin D. Better to take a supplement.

Love the advise about a hobby. I usually hate career strippers. They don't have much to talk about. Dancing and kids gets boring quick.
