Fun in New Orleans

New Orleans is famous for Mardi Gras, great food, free flowing liquor and BOOBS. In addition to all this action the French Quarter is packed with strip clubs. There are 16 listed here at tuscl. What's the deal with French Quarter strip clubs?

Of course that's where the tourist money is and there must be many guys that aren't satisfied looking at boobs on the street. Most places don't charge a cover, but many have a drink minimum. A few places are real dives but most are big chain type places and poor deals for dances, drinks, and anything else that you buy at clubs.

Here's how to really have a good time. Go to one of the bars on Bourbon that have an upstairs area with a balcony over the street. A cheap bag of beads and a little noise and you'll have women baring their breast just for a chance at a string of your cheap beads. Most of these places have shot girls. Unlike the strip clubs the shots are only 3 bucks. You may be pretty amazed what girls will do for a shot or two. This picture is a recent example: http://pictures.tuscl.net/4e25f9737136c-… />
The drinks at the normal bars aren't cheap but they're much cheaper than the strip clubs. There's no hassle, except maybe from shot girls trying to get you drunk. You can also buy a cheap drink somewhere and walk into just about any bar with it. Or, hang out in the middle of the street near a balcony and watch the show.

The strip clubs may be a rip off but Bourbon Street is a great time.
From what I have been told New Orleans clubs are a waste of time. I agree with your take on New Orleans and how to enjoy yourself.

I think that it depends on what you want to get out of the club experience. If it takes high mileage and "extras" to be a good experience for you, then you probably should pass the NOLA clubs by. However, The Penthouse club has some seriously stunning women with damn near perfect bodies (and this is MRS m00tpoint talking here - we all know women tend to be harsher critics of our own kind than men) and gorgeous faces. The dancing and costumes also tend to of higher quality than that we have experienced other places. (I will freely admit that the majority of our experience is centered in the midwest which is NOT the SC capital of the world. LOL)

However, for overall ambiance and history, you can't beat NOLA. One needs to remember that when you are on Bourbon Street you are a few short blocks from the infamous Storyville district - a genuine legal red light district of the past. Most of Storyville is gone but you can still see the bones of what used to be the cribs occupied by the cheaper options in the district. It is not hard to close your eyes and take yourself back to that time. May Bailey's, for instance, used to be a brothel and is now a bar on Dauphine.

We visted one club on Bourbon that seemed ordinary SC when you were in the front of the club. However, when one paid for a private dance, you were escorted out through a gorgeous courtyard into small rooms with french louvered doors, a full size sofa and two arm chairs. An old time ceiling fan stirred the breeze giving the whole room a totally notstalgic aura. The lap dance we had in the area was pretty ordinary (in fact is was pretty bad as far as contact and mileage go) but it will be one that we long remember because it gave us the feel that we had entered Storyville and evoked a taste of its forbidden yet very well used pleasures. It as very cool to walk down Dauphine and see the two houses that Norma Wallace once used as high end brothels, see the building that once supplied the furnishings for the whore houses at the height of the Storyville district and to imagine ourselves in other shoes.

If you are someone who needs a happy ending or high mileage, then bypass the clubs on Bourbon and head instead out to Visions. Just make sure to take a cab as the area is much less safe than the French Quarter.

Funny enough, just recently got done writing my NOLA reviews. I have a great distaste for the area, so will hold back any attacks, but I beg to differ with anyone that thinks that this area hold anything over the vast majority of large cities (which I realize NOLA is not) and tourist spots. Except for maybe Orlando, which is a horrible, horrible place for SC's (or any of the hobbies really), NOLA would be hard pressed to beat any of them.

I would agree with pop and to a certain degree m00t, in that it is all perspective when going to these areas, which is why tuscl and our accurate reviews are so vital. There is really no excuse to go into NOLA or Orlando or anywhere and not know what you are walking into. At least with NOLA, there are clubs like Visions, that can at least offer that SC feel that most cities deliver. Bourbon street clubs merely offer high priced eye candy.

However, it is too easy to say, if you have the money . . . because honestly, if I have that kind of money, I would rather hope on a plane and go elsewhere. A matter of fact, a buddy of mine did just that. He was with a client and they flew their own cessna into NOLA. They were gonna do a SC, but opted to get back on the plane, fly to Houston and go to St. James, where my buddy has VIP access. They didn't regret it!

Went to a Bourbon St. club a few years ago, and had a fantastic set of lappers by a hot brunette. She offered to go upstairs for $430 and said we could do anything but insertion. I passed, but she made the offer quite enticing. The $20 lappers were well worth the money. At one point she stood up on her little ottoman stage thing, with my three fingers still in her, and danced a while, not missing a beat.
