Nickled and Dimed, Wouldn’t Return
Had some time to kill after a Giants game so I headed to the Crazy Horse.
As others have mentioned—neighborhood feels pretty rough. I live in NYC so I feel like I’m usually less sensitive to this than others but even I felt a bit spooked walking around here.
The space itself is built like an old movie theater. It’s long and narrow with a stage at the front. A carpeted stage, which seems weird. Cover was $25, which is pretty steep. Then when you get in, you’re immediately given a hard sales pitch. You can either go sit up by the stage and tip singles OR you can pay ANOTHER $20 to sit in the VIP area, which is in the back. For that $20, you get two more sodas and girls will come talk to you. But you don’t really get a good view of the stage show. So immediately you have to pick between watching girls dance or chatting/private dances. Strange.
