Window shopping - i.e., look no touch
It had been a few years and I was going to be in Phoenix for a few days with some free time so I reached out to the locals. Thanks to scrub, trapdoor and Richard Head for the guidance. Of course, they told me what I already knew … sundays, mondays and tuesdays were the worst days of the week but I wasn’t going to let that stop me.
My first stop on Sunday night about 8p was Christie’s. Really nice looking club with a big, free, parking lot. Entryway was manned by a couple of girls who collected my $10 cover and a bouncer who gave me a quick look and let me in. There is a large bar just inside the door with a large circular stage just beyond it. After that .,. I couldn’t see shit. This place is dark. After my eyes adjusted I could see that the club stretched on for a ways with lots of small tables, and a raised seating area. The seating just kept going and going with lots of tables just miles from the stage. Since it was Sunday night I had no trouble finding a table with a good view of the stage, just inside where the raised area was. A cute waitress made her way over to me and brought me a corona that was $7 or $8 plus tip. The stage shows were pretty good. All three of the clubs I visited on my trip had spinning poles, which we don’t really see in MD. The dancers used the spinning poles well in their sets.
There were around 15 girls working and they were pretty hot, or at least had something going for them. All would do just fine. I was first approached by a Russian dancer with long dark hair. She put on the hard sell, but I wanted to check out the lineup and sent her along. She came back 3-4 more times and I finally asked for some $10 floor dances which… she doesn’t do. I sent her on her way for the last time.
