Solicited for prostitution and robbed....that sums up our experience. My husband and I were on vacation last week and went into GG to have a few drinks and watch/tip some dancers after having a blast walking around Fremont Street. Within 5 minutes of arriving, we were led (practically pulled to a table to "relax and talk". The stripper started dancing, no talk of prices was exchanged. Along comes the second stripper, and within the same song a third came. At that point my husband said stop, 3 times. The strippers expected 300 dollars each, even the one who did half a song and the one who did one song. Perhaps this could have been prevented if we paid upfront, but again we never asked for dances and they never asked if we wanted them. With their "tips and taxes" we would have owed them over 1200 dollars. My husband and I were separated when it was time to pay. He complained to the stripper that walked him to pay, as well as to the bouncer, but no one did anything. He had to sign a form stating how much he was paying, and they took his thumb print. On the way back to the table, the stripper asked my husband if he wanted to continue the party at our place. He simply pointed to the "no prostitution" sign and she walked away. We left feeling angry, robbed and surprised the stripper was dumb enough to think we would want her to hang out with her at all, but especially after the scam. I urge you to only pay for dances upfront. Get up and walk away if a dance starts you never asked for, and make a scene. Never bring your credit card or check card, either. They prey on tourists, the intoxicated and the uninformed. Additionally, a dancer in her 40's talked to me about how she felt stuck at GGG, has 3 kids (the oldest being 23) and I left there feeling sorry for her kids even though she was in on the robbery scam.
