In my multi-year quest to sample the lap dances at every strip club in Indianapolis, I finally made my way to Club Venus recently. This club (the former Strippers, for those who have been around Indy for a while) is on W. 16th Street about 1/2 mile east of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Between 10 and 11 on a Friday night there were 5 dancers, all of them black and quite "ghetto" in appearance and behavior. The customers, not many more in number, were either young black guys or older white guys like me. Cover was $5 and a Coke cost $3.50 plus $1.50 (pretty much demanded). One dancer sat with me and enticed me to a very dark lap dance area where it was obvious that everything was on the menu. I contented myself with two $25 dances and fled, never to return.
