Stopped in at Tootsies while passing...

Stopped in at Tootsies while passing thru Miami. I liked the old club they once had just up the street. Its long gone now and this big expansive one-time warehouse has none of the excitement and atmosphere of the old club. I remember coming here for the first time shortly after they opened. It was truly something to behold with all the shining new furniture, high ceilings, drapes and the great dancers they kept from the old club. Its not spectacular anymore, sort of worn out with thick smoke and walking on the filthy carpet was like walking through a trash dump with all the crap on the floor. The dancer quality is not that great, looked to me to be about a generous 7 if that. Most of the dancers seem to just go thru the motions on stage and then race off somewhere in the vast interior of this place never to be seen again. Although I was here for only an hour, I only saw 10 dancers working the 2 stages on the main floor. They advertise a 100 dancers that work here. I guess 90 of them were upstairs. I was told by a fellow customer that additional money would get me upstairs were he was led to believe better entertainment and a good time could be bought. Apparently Tootsies business model is a-club-in-a-club with the poor customers downstairs and the well-to-do customers buying their way to a good time upstairs. I'm not a Republican and anyways, I needed to hit the road and leave that wasted time in Tootsies behind me. This is my last time in Tootsies.
