Are the ninth floor rooms relatively quiet? One my first trip to tj about a month ago, I had a master suite on the third floor. The room itself was pretty nice, but the window opened out to the alley behind hk, and between the noise from the alley (club barkers etc.), the constant music from hk, and noise from neighboring rooms, I didn't get much sleep.

From Pedwest:
When you exit from last gate/ turnstile, you'll be at a small plaza tiled with orangish tiles/ bricks. There is often one of the Hong Kong drivers waiting right there (usually dressed in black suit, white shirt, black tie), if so, he'll take you to the car. If not, turn right after you exit the last gate/ turnstile, walk across the plaza and under the overpass in front of you and cross the street. Once across the street, turn left and walk about 100 feet. You'll come to a little alcove where you'll see the garage where the limo/ shuttle is parked. There's a sign that says Hong Kong above it. If the shuttle's not there, there is an office next door. Go in the office, and the manager or a driver will call for the shuttle to come get you. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes, and most of the time a shuttle was already there and I got right in.
I had the VIP card, but they never asked to see it, so not sure you really need it to use the shuttle. The shuttle itself was free, but the drivers will expect a tip ( I tipped 2-3 $ each trip).
When returning to the border, there is a valet stand on the side walk in front of Hong Kong. Tell the guy there you want to use the shuttle to go to the border (Pedwest gate or old gate), and he'll call for a shuttle, if its not already there. I always tipped him a buck or two, in addition to the driver.
I never used the old gate/ "pedeast" gate, so I can't help you there.

I'm also planning my first trip to TJ within the next few weeks, and I have also had some of the same concerns as you. I have been given the same or similar advice as above from experienced TJ visitors, so not much else I can tell you as I haven't been there myself yet. I had not heard about the phone numbers you mentioned, and appreciate that info, so thank you.

Thanks countryman, makes it worth considering at Chicago for a change of pace.
LOL, I think you may have been one of the reviewers that said the hotel at CC had no AC and was hot. āŗļø

Thanks xxxrated, you make good points. $120 total for an hour and a bucket of beers might make some sense, depending on the BG and what services she might be willing to perform.

Warrior, since I'll be staying at Hotel Cascadas, I would just take any BG at HK to my room there. Really only considered VIP for a BG at Chicago or Adelitas, since I couldn't take them to my room at Cascadas.

OK, I guess I misunderstood. So the $80 only gets you the room for an hour and a bucket of beers? Everything else ( BG fee for any services performed, BG drinks, etc.) would be in addition to the $80? If that's true, then I agree that's a lousy deal.

In Atlanta, Pink Pony. Although the club itself is not as big or nice as Cheetahs, and the dancers at Cheetahs on average are a little bit higher on the looks scale (but not all that much in my opinion), I find the dancers at Pink Pony to be friendlier, with less of an attitude.
In Miami, I agree with Tootsies.

Yeah, I've never given out my cell phone number, which is actually a company cell phone, so that wouldn't be cool. I wouldn't give my home phone number either, agree it's too risky.
This last dancer to give me her number was out of Shadowcat's club (Platinum Plus Columbia SC). We never discussed "extras" in the club, nor did she offer any, so my guess is she just wants me to call to tell me when she'll be in the club for more LDs. Some of the others in the past however, I think probably wanted to set up an OTC encounter for pay, although there'e always that element of doubt (these are the ones that usually offered ITC extras).

Nice review.
When I checked in at Hotel Cascadas recently, they put a paper wristband on me. Anyone know what that is for? I kept it on the first day, but took it off the next, and didn't really notice much difference

Yeah, on my last visit, I had one or two dancers try to tell me floor dances were 20, but when I questioned that they agreed to the usual 10. Maybe it's ploy to rip off newbies, or get you to do the 25$ booth dances?

I'm planning a trip to TJ and HK (my first). I'll probably take the blue line trolley from San Diego to the border. I read that pedwest was quicker to get through, particularly when returning to the USA, but I believe the trolley is at the old crossing to the east. How hard is it to get to, and how far is it from the pedwest crossing to to the old crossing by the trolley?

Thanks all for the input. Yeah, I knew I was getting ripped off, and I should have just paid her for the 3 songs plus the $40 tip I was planning on. Lesson learned. :-(
