Patience Pays
Capping off my three-day trip to Atlanta, I hit Oasis before leaving town. I was there Friday from 2:00-5:00. Free parking in a large lot. Entry included emptying of pockets, passing through a metal detector, and wanding. No cover charge at this hour and no mask requirement, but they did check my temperature. Bottled water was $8.00 at the bar. There was an unobtrusive bathroom troll on duty.
After having visited Diamond Club and Vivide (twice) the two days prior, it was kind of refreshing to be in a real strip club with continuous stage dancing, girls stripping down to just their high heels, and guys stage-tipping regularly. In terms of style, this is kind of a big country bar (wood paneling, high, raftered ceiling) and the music was a mix of rock and country. Three stages, but only the main one was in use at this time.
Prior to this visit, the last time I was here was in October 2017. Years ago I used to come here a good bit, but then they cracked down on extras and instituted a requirement that the girls do a burlesque routine, lip-synching to songs while stripping out of their full-length gowns and doing some work with fans as props. Well, the girls still carry fans on stage, but they no longer wear gowns and most don't even open the fans anymore. I don’t really care one way or the other about fans; I came back for the reported return of extras.
There were about a dozen dancers, mostly white, but a handful of AA girls and one that looked to be possibly Malaysian. Overall, a mix of thin and thick, A-cup to DD, natural and not, some younger, some older, some definitely prettier than others. There were probably more than 30 customers, and the place seemed quite lively. I sat at the bar near the stage, watched the girls dance three-song sets (nude for the last song), and got a few very low-touch nude table dances, which are $10. As reported in other recent reviews, the girls hang mostly with regulars at tables (or at the bar), and about the only way to get to talk to those girls was to approach them just before, during or after they got on stage. I did just that and arranged a trip to the VIP.
Instead of getting a small VIP room for $30 (which I did many years ago and thought it was just barely adequate), I opted for a larger room for $60. (Other options are available; see the posted club details here on TUSCL.) A bouncer assigns you a room, a waitress comes in to take the room fee and see if you want to order any drinks, and you pay the girl directly for her time, which in this case was $200 for 30 minutes. Girls set their own prices; she and I had discussed fees and her comfort level with various activities ahead of time.
I thought the room was quite spacious, well-enough appointed, and nicely lighted. We were left alone in complete privacy and at the 30-minute mark, the bouncer announced that our time was coming to an end. And our time was not the only thing coming. All I’ll say is that it was a very satisfying experience for both the dancer and me.
I enjoyed my visit. If you’re not a regular here (and I am definitely not), my advice is to be patient, look for an opening, and be prepared to make your move.
