IMOP, anybody that is not on welfare. I am not concerned with the economy. I don't deal in the stock market. I guess that I will be a little since my employer just deposited 1,000 shares of company stock into a Fidelity account. My savings are in my credit union and are not in danger. My 401k is secure. My mortgage company is sound and I expect to have it paid off within 4 years. I have zero credit card debt. I have no sympathy for those who over spent and now find themselves behind. They did it. Obama scares the hell out of me. I don't want this country to become a welfare state.

My concern is national security. Terrorism. I don't think that Obama has the experience to deal with it.

My candidate lost. I lost. We lost. Prove me wrong in 4 years.

Now back to strip clubbing.

"I don't want this country to become a welfare state."

Don't worry old man, it won't.

"I don't think that Obama has the experience to deal with it."

Right because we've been doing "so well" with the path that we've been on so far. Where's Bin Laden again??

"My candidate lost"

...and the country will clearly be the better for it...

Mister Guy,

What If someone dosen't like the way Obama has voted on issues in the past. The truth is he has great potential to do a lot of harm. He certainly is not the "answer" everyone has been looking for.

Hopefully, the huge losers will be those who fell hook line and sinker for the government's phoney War on Terror. Unfortunately, I think President Obama will keep those people very happy continuing the government's policy of endless war.

On the bright side funding and arming (part of the "surge" strategy) those who were just a few months earlier were killing and maiming American soldiers may be the means of declaring "victory" and then running away fast and furiously. Of course, the government will have to keep funding and arming these "former" enemies, but the mess that was created by the government's invasion and occupation has to be paid for somehow. Declaring "victory" and then fleeing is a small price to pay.

Another set of losers, unfortunately, were those countries that wished to see Iran's power constrained assuming President Obama keeps his promise and withdraws U.S. forces from Iraq. Toppling Saddam was already like a gift from Heaven for Iran especially moreso when the replacement leaders are essentially the same people as the Iranians and had very close ties in the past. A withdrawal of U.S. forces cements the gift.

Pakistan's people who just wish to be left in peace will be big losers if President Obama keeps his promise to increase the war efforts in that region of the world. President Obama may also go after the opium farmers as part of this all out effort.

Does all this improve America's security? Well, considering the security problem was negligible to begin with the answer is definitely no, imo. Withdrawing from both wars would probably greatly saddened Bin Laden forcing him to try and strike America again. His strategy appears to be what he claimed. Let America destroy itself while creating millions of people who hate America.

The election is over now...the past really doesn't matter that much...he's going to be the President now.

"The truth is he has great potential to do a lot of harm."

More than GWB?? Please...

I believe Obama is a smooth talker. That may be an improvement because the other candidates and president didn't give an impression of being a good talker let alone a smooth talker. Lots of people are happy with the change but he can't possibly live up to everyones expectations. I'm very pessimistic about the national economy for the next few years. Looking on the bright side, Obama seems to have generated a lot of good will with many people around the globe. We may need their help and some smooth talking to get more loans for the US. Our government is overspending and I don't know how long they can continue to do so and have us still be able to afford all the extra taxes that will be coming. Don't worry, Obama can keep his pledge not to tax most people. He can just tax the corporations, they'll charge you more for products, he can tax health care plans, they'll increase your premiums, etc.

I do congratulate Obama on having an excellent campaign. McCains was lousy. I could have done a better job than McCain did. Obama is taking the weekend off not listening to the news. In December he's going to Hawaii for some R & R. If GM, Chrysler, and other companies are going to bite the dust before he gets in office, Bush and the democratic congress will have to come to the rescue and keep providing loans until they start selling cars that people want to buy. Our government might be making loans for at least a few years if the economy continues to get worse as I expect. We all lose. Well, the Big 3 auto industry will get welfare for a while.

I expect a bull market in stocks to begin again in 2012 or 2016. There may be some bear market rallies. Next week I expect Hedge fund redemptions to hit the market. People can only take so much of their money out at one time. I expect the SP500 index will drop into the 500 range before all is said and done. That would be another 40 to 50 percent drop from current levels of stock prices. Same thing happened when looking back in the late 1920's, early 1930's. That may not happen this year though.
