I assume this has been brought up here many times before? I don’t understand the concept or the reasoning behind it.

Internet says it’s a display of wealth and power? But if and when you see the rides these people roll up in it pretty well ruins that reasoning.

My theory is they are desperate for attention and feel it’s the only way they can get it? I have noticed after seeing it in practice at least a hundred times in clubs that the people doing it never seem to go for more private dances. I also have a theory that these are men who are not confident in their own erectile status enough to partake and enjoy private dances?

No matter the reasoning, sadly, it disrupts the normal flow of the club. When it’s happening I’ve noticed that even many of the girls who are not on the receiving side of the rain are hesitant to go to “the back”? As though they might miss something?

Do any of you on TUSCL participate in this nonsense? And if so why? I would love to hear what the rest of you think about it? My last theory regarding M.I.R. is that very few, if any of us “TUSCLers” participate in this ridiculous waste of our hard earned money for essentially nothing in return?

Any honest way strippers make money is good, because it motivates them to stay in the game.
For people who like to flex with showy spending, the typical stripper needs their money more than the owners of brands that have blown up.
Some PL may do it as a submissive gesture. On the other hand, the ritual often involves the stripper assuming a submissive posture in front of the PL who's throwing the singles. Which arouses him more than physical contact with her, cause that's his kink.

Whats the minimum amount that takes it from a drizzle to rain?

fan it out first and throw high underhanded, about $30 but if you want to impress the stripper, tip then $20 in a garter/strap

I prefer the $10/20 in garter. More discreet

Rather than needlessly pondering the "erectile status" of strangers, I just appreciate that even one person making it rain means you can get away with tipping less. A few guys making it rain and you don't have to at all.

Gets the energy up and the dancers in a good mood. Why not?

It's part of the hip hop culture and not for everyone including me.

Literally just wasting money. Why not use that money towards lap dances, extras, drinks, etc..? Instead of just throwing it in the air on a girl?

Many MIR types seem angry as hell. The don't even look at the girls. They just toss the dollars either backwards or while walking by. Very dismissive and a power play, I think. One guy who didn't get an immediate glance from the dancer as he walked up, threw his money all over the floor beside the stage and shouted, "You can pick it up, bitch!"

Sick shit, I think.

I’m not cheap, I don’t mind spending money, I actually enjoy spending money on hot girls. But I don’t like WASTING money!

I would never make it rain on a random girl but I will do it for my ATF because she likes it.

I make a paper football and flick em into the field goal of the dancer spreading her legs.

I dont like it and think its a power play. Feels almost disrespectful but I have had some dancers tell me that they love it. And some dudes def loove to do it.

Somewhat similar to @Aj247, I used to make paper airplanes and aim for between her titties. One particularly chesty girl I remember thought it was funny. But I have never made it rain and thought that was stupid and pointless.

As I recall, making it rain started out in the so-called Gentleman's Clubs. Hip-hop only got associated with strip clubs when gangsta rap came along. Strippers never report cash transactions to the IRS.

Guys who make it rain are simply the type who don't want women touching them and other guys to not notice this. To the young it is all about the limp dicked photo op.

Origin Claim for making it rain: Jermaine Dupri Black Enterprise claims he originated the practice at Atlanta’s Magic City club after featuring it in his 1998 video, noting that early, it was misunderstood by dancers who expected to receive the money directly.

Maybe you're right shadow. In my experience, it was a bigger deal in the more pretentious clubs. The club would have a big fan to throw the money in front of. It seemed like they had a minimum number of singles. You could throw the money yourself, but most PLs asked a bouncer to throw it. I've only been in one club that had those machines specifically designed to shoot a lot of bills into the air, and it wasn't a rap club.
