State threads
MuddyUSA
Would yall be interested if we did state discussion threads? Go through all 50. We could trade experiences, questions, where to go, where not to go, etc. It's 50 threads so I just want to ask first if this is something yall would wanna do otherwise I won't waste everyone's time
Comments
last commentI know r/stripper often has threads like that. That format works over there though because somebody will list all the clubs as their own individual comments, and people can respond to each individual comment.
Maybe do a thread that has a cluster of like 5-10 different clubs? South Dakota can be its own state discussion. Austin can be its own city thread. Portland OR might have to be broken down by area of town?

In addition to current local info, it would be fun to trade stories about the old days and clubs long gone.

I was thinking kind of go through the cities in each thread. Some would be real short but California and Texas and Florida...shit

I’m not sure a single tread for each state makes practical sense. Many states are too large for that to make sense. Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh? Dallas vs. Houston? LA vs. SanDiego? And so on. I don’t see a single thread per state effectively serving the interest of clubgoers in each city.
I like the idea of regional/metropolitan area threads. For example, in my state of Maryland, there would be two such regions: Baltimore City and its suburbs. And Washington DC and its suburbs. A Baltimore City regional thread would include clubs from two additional counties. While a Washington DC regional thread would include clubs in Prince George’s County Maryland as well as the northern Virginia clubs.
Unfortunately, I admit it would take some time and effort to organize that scheme. It would probably take a fair bit of effort from many local experts across the country. And only Founder knows if he’s up for herding such a collection of the stray cats that make up this board.

Maybe major city threads.
Some states are too big for a single thread. Same with regions.
Outside of a few major cities. The forums would be a waste of space. Like how much can you discuss about Ohio or New Hampshire...

Metros would be a lot more threads to do. I'll tell you what maybe another iteration down the road, we can zoom in. Let me see how states go. Questions, reminiscing, advice, tips, pointing people in certain directions whatever

We've had this discussion before. Just like there's a forum for TJ, it would make sense for some of the major metros. LA (COI), Phoenix, Tampa, SE Florida, Detroit, Atlanta, Providence, Philadelphia.
.
I'm sure I'm skipping some, but there seems to be enough activity around those that they would get enough action to merit a thread.

I wouldn’t knock Ohio. Just a quick glance at estimated populations vs how many club listings on TUSCL…
Ohio, 12 million 175 listings
Texas 31 million, 309 listings
California 39 million, 250 listings
Granted, Texas has places like The Lodge and California has places like 4play whereas Wisconsin has a lot of video poker and beer drinkers filling up more dive type of titty bars, but even still.

Alright fuck time to shit or get off the pot I'll just go for it see how it works out

Oh look who has free wi-fi in the Walmart parking lot tonight!

TUSCL is great but one thing that is missing is articles/reviews that compare across strip clubs in an area. When traveling, it can be very helpful to have a way to compare strip club options. If the state-level comparison gets too unwieldy, it would also be helpful to have a comparison of clubs within a major metro area that has lots of strip club options, such as Tampa or Houston.
.
Think along the lines of a travel guide (e.g., Frommers) that compares across restaurants in a given city and do that for strip clubs in a particular location.

Electronman you have that on yelp and Google and can compare ratings here as well.

No. Club specific threads are bad enough.

Icey. I've never found Yelp or Google to be reliable judges of strip clubs. For example, when I google "best strip clubs near Detroit" the top ten include clubs that I would rank very low and fails to include clubs such as Flight Club, Landing Strip, BT's, etc.
In my opinion, TUSCL provides much more valuable club ratings. Of course you can search clubs by location but even then a head to head (no pun intended) comparison by a person who has sampled more than one club in the area, is very helpful.

Electronman i think google reviews are the most up to date and reliable. Yelp fell off. Tuscl is more about prostitution than actual clubbing though. And is more about bargain hunting. Thats the main difference. Im not saying that in a bad way but in a realistic way.
The thing I find useful about google is the rip off aspect of clubs. On yelp the hidden reviews are usually the most useful.
For me. There are clubs that are very popular but havent been reviewed on here in years.

Actual clubbing as you define it is stage dance clubs where you can get attention from making it rain. Thats not what most club goers are looking to do either
Google and yelp reviews actually arent allowed to get vulgar while tuscl allows it. Your simply talking about the different rules at play on google and yelp. The most you can say on those sites is state whether you got a good lapdance or if you got good service.
And no dude, the reviews hidden on yelp, are hidden by their algorithm… no doubt sometimes it messes up, but those reviews are hidden because they’re suspected spam, suspected to be fake reviews.. suspected to be paid reviews. They look at the poster of those reviews, their ip address… if its someone who always writes 5 star reviews every place.. or 1 star every place.. it makes it more likely to be hidden. Saying the hidden reviews are the most useful is really a deranged sort of thing to say… its basically trolling

They also hide reviews for being too vulgar or brief… if a review just says screw this place, its likely to get hidden. For someone like you who gets confused from longer sentences and starts yelling word salad i can see the attraction to hidden reviews, but to the average guy they arent going to offer more value than the visible reviews

@Electronman, Totally agreed that we need more articles describe the scene in the area. We've had some in the past, I think for example like this article /article/39983 about the Miami scene from @Papi_chulo which was useful to me when I first went clubbing in FLL. Or even this article /article/60775 from @EastCoaster which compares DTW's mid tier clubs. The side-by-side comparisons are more worthwhile than any single review IMHO.
.
But, we need these for like every city, and they need to be more accessible. Right now at feels to me like once an article is falls off the front page it's lost for good and no one remembers it.

I just reread the article I wrote on Atlanta clubs (/article/16129) 14 years ago. It was good information then but of no use today. Half of the clubs are gone and things today are changing so rapidly I would find it hard to do an updated article.

Muddy..... Great Idea. I like how you and Sinclair post many of your trips. You hit many area's that are not your typical spots. People review your top spots all the time. Look at Detroit and the major clubs with hundreds of reviews... you know what you are going to get.
Now I agree it will be difficult to do especially in many strip club void area's or states. Also where people might not know about this site or participate as well. Hence why you have some clubs that get reviews once every 3 years type thing or once a year when the same person visits them on a yearly trip....ie: guys fishing/hunting/golf type trip.
Also agree/disagree with what some say about Yelp/google reviews and here. I know one says about "extras".... that is a yes/no. Some people want to know about prices of dances, if it is one way touch (so you don't get in trouble), rules of club, etc. That way you know some info going in so you don't get ripped off, don't have awkward discussions, offend anyone, and possibility of extras or not. I also use yelp/google and here when I travel to make decisions if I want to visit a club or not.

There’s no point in doing this. There’s only 4 relevant, elite, legit strip club cities. (1. Dallas 2. Vegas 3. Houston 4. Detroit area)

^ you’re right, we get too many tourists in south Florida, stay away our strip clubs aren’t any good.

^ wrong on those being on the only four top tier cities to club. Vegas is in lower 50% of all cities overall too given the terrible price to fun ratio

Vegas is the number one clubbing destination. No other city has the same reputation or clubs being such a part of the culture.

Only reason it gets hated on by some on here is they complain that tourists get quoted higher prices by hookers

@twentyfive:
If you are latino, or love Latina girls, sure go to South Florida. For everyone else, the cities I listed are accurate.

Florida clubs arent all that. Lile at booby trap the best girls are always from out of state

^ your right Icee, we have too many tourists in south Florida spread the word.
Ilovehotblondes, you’re not right plenty of native Floridian girls, yes there are a lot of latinas and there are many other groups plenty of variety, believe what you like it doesn’t affect me at all.
