RFK Jr. Confirmed

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was confirmed today by the Senate to be the new head of the Department of Health and Human Services. The vote was 52-48. Good idea or bad idea? While I am not an anti-vaxxer, I think there is something wrong when America spends more than any other country on health care while not even being in the top thirty in average life expectancy. Maybe we need to put less emphasis on drugs and surgery after people get sick and more on preventive care and encouraging people to eat better and exercise more.

I'm a Republican but RFK Jr is such a fucking tool. He hasn't shown he can run a trillion dollar bureaucracy, seems not to believe in biomedical innovation (let alone has any idea how it's created), and is a fucking crackpot. The vaccines/autism link has been smacked the fuck down again and again.

Life expectancy is not a good measure of the healthcare system. It's as much about sociological factors (like poverty and ethnicity) as it is the healthcare system. If you control for that, car accidents, and violence, we're not that bad (though financial impact is a different story).

I just hope we minimize the damage this assclown can do.

Preventive care and lifestyle adjustments are great and should basically be universal but you still need/want all the traditional medical interventions to some degree. It would just be done a lot less than it is now, which would also save everyone money. This confirmation is definitely a bad thing.
lol - I don’t want him to run a trillion dollar bureaucracy. We voted for change. I hope he turns it upside down.

^ Medicare/Medicaid are going to be a trillion dollar bureaucracy under any circumstances. He hasn't shown he can cut anything. Never run anything of note.
Measles, mumps, polio, and rubella, are ecstatic, they’re making a comeback.
That voice of his sounds like he’s gagged on a few cocks to get into that position.
AAAAAAyyyyy....

I agree with Puddy on this one!

RFK looks like he better put down the vodka and prunes, he doesn't know what's about to hit him!
Christ. Just when you think it can't get worse,,vit proceeds to get worse. How can any senator claim to represent the people and vote for a brain eaten imbecile like Kennedy. SMH...🫤
I have a more simplistic (and admittedly less informed) view of RFK. The rest of the slimy stinkin' turds in the Democrat party, including members of his own shitty family, seem to despise him. For that reason, I think he's probably a good choice.

The person who wants everyone to get healthy recommends Heroin for ADD and puts baby chicks in blenders. Among other things this is nothing more than a payoff for votes. I guess that is ok now with the new republican party. Everyone Trump nominated either game him loads of cash, or said good things about him on Fox news, or was a project 2025 author. Except for Rubio, how did he slip in???

A lot of people hate the guy. I don't get it at all personally. He's right, a lot of our issues are connected to the bullshit chemicals in our food. If a Farmer loses his crops for the season, he's going to check what's going on with the soil. He's not antivaxx at all btw that's BS, we are allowed to question things in this country to make sure they are safe. Big pharma does not get an exemption from that.
I think he won't be able to accomplish much of anything. I do hope we don't have a major pandemic with him in charge, although at least I don't live somewhere where the state also is impotent.

The people that canonize the guy that possibly supported gain of function research for covid are against RFK. I'm not into RFK but I don't think questioning the status quo is such a bad thing.

Donald Trump's first presidency was held back by his willingness to listen to establishment Republicans advise him how to staff his cabinet. Pence, Priebus, Mattis, etc. He has kicked the establishment to the curb in a last-ditch, hail Mary attempt to fix everything the establishment has broken. He is nominating people who he believes will enact and execute his agenda - not their own and not the GOP agenda. His agenda is what he campaigned and was subsequently elected for. That the MSM and liberal democrat party are so maniacally and hysterically apopletic about this indicated that they are frightened that Trump can and will be successful in making America great, healthy, and affordable again. If he cannot, then we will likely see another democrat party midterm.

Then two more wasted years of gridlock and weaponized lawfare and BS impeachments.

using common sense one might think that someone like dr ben carson would have been appointed this job.

the vibe that i get from rfk is that to me he appears to be grandstanding. regarding the jab and backlash against big pharma he's just saying what say about half of the country wants to hear.

His disqualifications are similar to Trump's, and that issue was clearly decided in the election.

It's interesting that Collins only voted against Hegseth, even though Harris won the popular vote in Maine by about 7%. The Constitution says the Senate should consent to the President's picks, not approve them. Maybe she's being faithful to that.
Hes whats called a useful idiot....

^ I don't know who he'll be useful to. Someone who claims brain worms and to have killed a bear cub and left it in Central Park isn't playing with a full deck.

I can't stand how fellow conservatives are just saying "well, the eStaBLisHmeNt hates him so he has to be good," uh no, the opposite of crazy is still crazy.

Vaccines and clean water were a quantum leap forward in terms of human health. It's amazing how many druggies are anti-vax; OK, we don't want this well-studied solution in the human body, but smoke or shoot up something we bought at a shady gas station in East Atlanta.

Autism diagnosis has increased because the definition has expanded and we're actually trying to diagnose it (better tools, more effort, genetic testing), rather than writing these kids off as "retarded." The vaccines kids now are actually _safer_ than the ones they got in the 60s.

If he wanted to get shit out of our food, shouldn't he be Secretary of Agriculture or something?
My guess is most of the senators are following the guidance from the constitution, it says advise and consent, not agree with the choice.
It gives them an out, and they can stay on the less stinky side of Trump's shit list.
Hopefully one day everyone else figures out that as long as politicians can make serious money from being politicians, nothing will ever change except their faces. Trump sucks, the people he chooses are fucking retards, but progressives are 10x worse. Taxpayer money going to fucking Palestinian terrorists? Fuck you democrats.
@twentyfive: "Measles, mumps, polio, and rubella, are ecstatic, they’re making a comeback." Illegals coming in are not screened for disease. You left out the rise in TB & bed bugs.

@twentyfive: Guidance is fine. I've watched several of these Senate hearings and the Dems are just Karens with no constructive content. They sound like that bizarre city council meeting in Worcester, MA that is just the start of a cancer that will slowly metastasize to other cities. Trump is just protecting those under 18 who can't vote or even drink. When you are 18+ I don't care what you do legally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?…

When it came to Clinton's, Obama's and Biden's nominations (thankfully we missed the SC Garland Silver Bullet), it was expected they'd be rubberstamped. Biden (whomever he was told to nominate by the Dem MiB Machine we didn't vote for to be POTUS) got CabSecs that were just UN Globalist Progressive Soros Party Tools. And yeah, I do blame every GOP'er in the Senate that voted to approve them as piles even flies wouldn't touch.

Trump has assembled a young (by DC standards) crew of "pirates" that have the best chance to reverse the Titanic facing an impending iceberg where we only see the tip. Elon is using technology to provide the information to Trump/WH/Cabinet to make decisions on how to root out fraud and corruption enabled by Congress who doesn't read Bills and the (keyword Dems have their collective panties in a bunch over) unelected 4th branch Nomenklatura just does what they decide by distilling what they think should be done in those Bills.

Here is a good, in-country example - you can do a ChatGBT to get the full IT Infrastructure Bill:
"Funding Allocation: The BEAD Program (The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) provides $42.45 billion to support planning, infrastructure deployment, and adoption programs aimed at connecting 25 million Americans currently without high-speed internet access." There are so many DEI requirements that many demographic locales can't meet. This program is looking to run fibre to rural homes. $42.5B is just $1,680/home. And, then the ongoing monthly service fee isn't calculated. In rural areas, it will cost way more than $1,700 just to trench FTTP. I see hundreds of conduit spools in my area that have been sitting for 3 years and no deployment.

Elon fixed this problem with Starlink. Starlink will connect any location on Earth with LEOs. Even T-Mobile is now offering Starlink connectivity; jury is out how this will work and cost however it is an interesting cell connectivity leap,
Glimmers of intelligence:

"Trump sucks, the people he chooses are fucking retards, but progressives are 10x worse."

Glimmers of tard:

"Taxpayer money going to fucking Palestinian terrorists? Fuck you democrats."

Why would anybody mute this shit?

^Better question is why would any American support the vermin called Palestinians or vote progressive, unless they were a useless loser of course.
