Someone was subdued in the foyer with pepper spray last night and the spray got sucked into the building. None of us inside knew what was happening. At first I thought that the girl I had just taken to a lap dance was wearing some kind of perfume that was making me cough (not that I smelled anything), but she started coughing also, and just about everyone around. I made my way outside where there was a bevy of cop cars and an ambulance. Did anyone else experience this? Shouldn't they have evacuated the building at this point? They tried to carry on as if nothing had happened. I felt as if I had been poisoned. Apparently strippers aren't used to taking good care of themselves -- if I were working in that kind of environment I would get out and raise holy hell.
I am shocked, shocked to hear that a strip club treated both its customers and staff with callous disregard.
For the record, I'm on board with what you're saying. But the club's handling of this situation surprises me as much as jumping into the ocean and then getting wet.
I heard that the same manager got in trouble with the fire dept. recently for not evacuating the building when the fire alarm went off. Obviously not one to learn from his mistakes.
I assume they didn't realize that the pepper spray had spread into the rest of the club. I have been in the same room as someone getting pepper sprayed / maced a few times including being less than 10 feet away once. On none of those occasions did it effect me or anyone else in the room beyond the intended target and those in direct contact with them. Generally pepper spray is very concentrated so that only the target is effected, it isn't like the tear gas canisters they use to disburse rioters.
I am not surprised that a club wouldn't evacuate or even announce anything when it first happened. The bars that I was in when customers got prpper sprayed didn't evacuate or shit down. People jst sort of migrated away from where it happened.
I'm sure it is probably not the 1st time someone has been pepper sprayed in a strip club by either a bouncer or a stripper. However, once any customers or employees started being effected they should've addressed it further at that point.
