While he may not have been have been a comedy legend like Robin Williams or Jon Belushi, Matthew Perry was one of the funniest men of his generation. Today he joined the long list of comedians that died at far too young of an age.

I didn't watch Friends but I saw a scene here and there. This one with Chandler smoking in his office cubicle was funny.

I wasn’t a dedicated watcher of “Friends” but saw many episodes. Definitely my favorite character that had perfect comedic timing.
His struggles with drugs and alcohol are well documented. Last year he made the usual book tour round of interviews to talk about his sobriety andI I thought he seemed to slur his words - no idea if he was still drinking or not but a bit weird.

Was never a fan of that show still, that’s a sad story, poor guy didn’t deserve to die so young.
I love Friends and have seen every episode, but I don't think I'll be able to watch it for a while now. I'm pretty gutted about this news and I love Chandler. Matthew Perry was known to be the kindest to the audience during tapings, too, even while struggling with his substance abuse. (For those who haven't watched Friends much, Perry's weight fluctuates quite noticeably throughout the series, and it's because of his substance abuse).
Extenuating circumstances in a hot tub alone can be a couple beers, especially if he kept it extra hot.
