Interesting article explaining why Ukraine is not in NATO.

To me it sounds like everyone was vague, everyone was pussyfooting around, and now this has caused a conflict which may lead to a war.

The Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis were two distinct and separate historical events.

It's 300 miles from Miami to Cuba.

Kennedy failed the Bay of Pigs, and was wrong. One of his many failures as a democrat party hack elected for his family name and good looks.

Regardless of whether any Ukrainian government or population majority wanted to join NATO, membership rules include that countries seeking membership cannot have active wars or civil wars ongoing. Russia was very deliberately occupying Crimea and materially supporting the fighting in the Donbas regions to keep Ukraine ineligible for membership.

As for the argument of why would NATO not issue guarantees that Ukraine would not be admitted, how stupid are you? This mostly comes from the same leftist and communist sympathizers who support the felons calls for defunding the police and the illegal immigrants calls for abolishing ICE. The enemy and criminals do not get to determine how things are run.

It's really not that complicated, folks. Putin tested the waters by occupying Crimea. He pushed the envelope by sending troops to the border. Biden assured Putin that he would allow Ukraine to be attacked as punishment for the problems with his son. There is no doubt that Putin assured Biden that he would terminate and destroy all investigations into Hunter's corruption. We all know that senile Joe believed him, but Putin will keep all evidence and records as blackmail tools for future use. Shortly, Ukraine will be a puppet state of the new Russian Empire.

This is what I've said several times and I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion on it. Biden is compromised because he got filthy rich selling political access while he was VP. (His junkie son was just the bag man.) I often wonder why Obama allowed that to go on when apparently he gained nothing from it personally. Who knows, maybe old Joe had dirt on Obama and offered to keep it under his hat as long as his little money-making venture continued.

Regardless, now that Putin will obviously have all of Ukraine under his control, he will have access to hard evidence of Joe's treasonous deals... computer servers, accounting records, emails, meeting minutes, recorded conversations, testimony of executives, shit, probably even personal journals and post-it notes... everything. And if that got out globally, the FBI wouldn't be able to sweep it under the rug like they did with Hunter's laptop that they've had since at least 2019.

^ that’s the kind of stuff that gets posted by the conspiracy rags, truth is if Biden and /or his son were really involved in that shit, they’d be a lot wealthier then they are, ( I’m not defending him or his kids) but in reality they really are kind of poor compared with most of the other political hacks that have been around as long as the Biden’s.

At this point it makes no difference whether or not Ukraine is in NATO. Long term, NATO should be dissolved and replaced with something which Russia can also be a member of.

NATO has no right to get involved in Ukraine. It's not a member nation. So what they're trying to do is provoke Russia by amassing an invasion force in Poland.

NATO is not involved in Ukraine. Ukraine is outside of its treaty scope.

But most NATO members are trying to stop this Russian aggression before we have another World War.
