Had a weird experience (for me) at Private Dancer in Cbus and am too lazy to review. Can anybody explain to me how dancers taking their bottoms off is worth your being unable to touch them at all during dances, or having to sign a club-membership form to get it in? There was a smokin' girl there, but I just don't think I see myself returning to a no-contact strip club.
Lecherous, let me try and speak to the issues you are raising.
First of all, as I see it the membership club or private party model is the way of the future.
Since it is not retail it gets you around all zoning laws. And these zoning laws are why new strip clubs are not opening. They are the reason Deja Vu has got something pretty close to a monopoly with its clip joints in many metros.
Second, since it is not retail it gets you around all state and local ordinances about strip clubs and adult entertainment. And these were written to be very easy to enforce. They don't apply because the private club is not really a strip club.
Now what they don't get you around is the criminal law, and specifically the prostitution law. But that is always very hard to enforce. And in a private venue it is hard for LE to even get a political mandate to enforce. So really it is just between you and the girl.
About alcohol, as it is not retail they cannot hold a liquor license. So they cannot sell alcohol. So they can say BYOB. Or some have found that it leads to less problems if they just say No Alcohol.
This is after all the legal compliance model pioneered by Swingers Clubs decades ago.
So in principle, everything being between you and the girl, there need be no mileage limits front room, back room, or limits on walking a girl right out the door with you.
Now, about what you experienced, and about this club, and about this girl, I do not know. You might ask around see if anyone knows what is up.
I say that we need to be getting all the paperwork and the legal know how to set up as many of these clubs as possible. And I say that TUSCL should be promoting them with a special section, and being careful that they never have to sign onto anything which makes them sound retail, or makes it sound like the women are their crew.
Another thing this model gets you around is labor law, and especially CA's AB-5, which has destroyed the gig economy. It many be the way of the future in many states.
Anyone know anything about this venue that Monk experienced? Want to tell us where it is, you could PM me.

Since when is Private Dancer a no contact club? I haven't been there since 2019ish but I always got some pretty decent lapdances there in the past. No extras (it is Columbus after all) but there was always a good grind and fairly decent roaming of hands was allowed by most dancers. Maybe, you just got a bad dancer or maybe youdo have an issue of strippers thinking you are a cop.
If Private Dancer has gone no touch for some reason you should try Roadhouse for an all nude option in Columbus. Level of contact still varies girl to girl bust most allow a decent amount.
I use to go to a club with two separate VIPs, one fully nude with no touching, the other only topless with touching. They eliminated the fully nude one, and many dancers told me a lot of their regulars stopped coming. We all just like what we like, no clear logic to it.
^^^^^^^^ Any tiered dances or special rules is a bum deal. Just demonstrate charm and generosity and make it happen with your girl right in the front room.
People like what they like. Why do some guys like to throw money on stage instead of get lap dances? Why do some like to have drinks at the club while others prefer water? Why do some dudes dig small, tight asses while others call them boyish? Why do some dudes like big soft asses while others call them fat?
Me, I'd pay more for hands-on topless dances than hands-off nude. The market makes me thing I'm in the minority, as many places seem to topless dances with more contact priced lower than nude dances with less. I guess maybe it's the girls who feel that they need more money to be naked? Fuck if I know.

Do they make it clear that it is a membership club / private club?

That is the whole idea of the Membership Club / Private Party model.
You find the girl you want and display generosity and charm and make it happen with her.
Now Buying Dances, or Buying Anything, that could cause a problem as that gets into legal restrictions which they are not exempt from.

Buying Dances is a Chump's Game.

It’s a bad joke - because of the source (Woody Allen):
If you smoke after sex, you’re doing it too fast…
