4th of July

Avatar for shailynn
shailynnThey never tell you what you need to know.

I don’t know about you guys but the weather in my area seems to be changing every 10 minutes. One day the forecast says it’s going to rain all weekend, the next day says it should be decent.

Not sure what I will be doing. Nice weather - boating / bad weather - catching up on projects around the house. Regardless glad I don’t have to entertain anyone (family or friends) over the holiday for once and no matter what I’ll be grilling hotdogs, a crappy 4th of July tradition.

Damn it I forgot to ask my question.

What do you PLs have planned - and this is the ONE holiday other than Christmas that I don’t think I’ve ever clubbed around.

Run-of-the-mill barbeque on the 4th, then meeting with a friend.

Clubbing possibly Friday, possibly Monday. Major holidays are too unreliable to club on.

Heading down to The Keys for a reunion of sorts bunch of us go every year in August, but we've all been on lockdown for too damn long, so we moved our August soiree up a month, hopefully the weather will co-operate and we'll have some fun.

Nothing planned yet. Probably won't do anything. Everything will be too crowded

No use clubbing on the 4th. I plan to take a long bike ride, eat a burger and read.

Our weather keeps changing too but I’ll do some outdoor cooking and drink a lot. I love grilled hot dogs so I’ll have some of those along with smoking something good like a brisket or ribs. I’ll find a little time to club. CF is away for the weekend so I’ll probably try to reunite with a former CF or maybe someone new, depends where the wind takes me.

We have an awesome weekend planned. Going to dig up about 800 sq feet in the backyard; trundle it to the woods out back; lay down fabric weed mat and then shovel 8 yards of multi colored rock down to complete the backyard renovation. Rock only weighs 2,600 pounds .....per yard.

Going on a cruise to Kent Narrows with my wife and several friends, who will be on other boats. Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday, we'll buzz back home to do laundry, arrange getting my catalytic converters replace and return to the boat.

I’m on the west coast right now I’ll be clubbing. As far as what I’m doing I don’t know, I kind of just go with the flow and see where the fun takes me. I could only do a trip like this single, really.

Several of my family in Chicago have finally decided to pull the trigger and move to Florida. We've got a huge houseboat rented up in St. Pete's that's going to serve as their base of operations for taking I-75 and I-4 to all neighborhoods of interest. As the happy host, I've been stocking up on grillable meats and vegetables, booze, party snacks, etc. Now, they may even get a taste of hurricane season with TS Elsa. If anyone gets seasick they'll have to find a room on the mainland, though. I ain't cleaning that up and I am not losing the deposit.

Going to try to take my dog somewhere hopefully scenic away from people. I love fireworks shows but he does not.

Drove up to New Hampshire a couple of weeks ago with my brother and bought a bunch of fireworks. Going to light them off on the beach and put on a show for my niece and nephew and anyone else who happens to be there.

It’s been raining like crazy here the last 2-weeks – this is the rainy-season downhere in Miami but it’s been worse than normal – this time of year it’s not uncommon to get quick showers in the afternoon (as the heat builds up throughout the day) and then the sun is back-out like nothing happened – this time of year we also get some hard rain, but it’s usually quick showers – but the last week or two it’s been raining more than it’s been dry – the forecast for the next few days w.r.t. rain is Fr (80%); Sat (25%); Su (15%); Mo (50%).

Don’t have any plans for the weekend/4th – I haven’t felt like my normal-self and haven’t wanted to be around people if I’m not feeling like myself and wouldn’t be good-company.

Had a great time touring micro breweries with my grown sons on the rainy Memorial Day weekend.
They got other plans this weekend so probably workout and then chores in the morning and start drinking mid afternoon and barbecue.
Life is good. America is great!
