Utah consumes more internet porn than other states on average.
Years ago it was well known that the internet was used for more porn than all other types of data/content out together. It’s only grown since then.
Porn has put a lot of money into everyone in tech’s pockets. Cisco, Juniper, ATT, Verizon, Microsoft, Dell, Amazon, IBM, and all down the line.

Years ago, my bank had a joint venture with Dell. During that time, Dell wanted to target riskier credits. This was in direct conflict with our philosophy of keeping credit quality high - and defaults low. In order to offset the increased risk - we found that Utah didn’t seem to have usury issues charging over 30% interest. So we began writing our loans out of Utah - and then we moved to revolving lines of credit - that allowed for high interest rates and crazy accretive balances! Woo hoo!
Those Mormons are interesting in their boundaries.

I heard with Mormons they are weirdly conservative about most things, but like when it comes to women getting boob jobs or other plastic surgery they heavily encourage it. I guess I just don't get these people w/e. But they have their good sides. Usually nice/helpful/good neighbors

A few years ago I remember flying out to Salt Lake. That was pretty amusing because to get there had to fly out to Denver first, then get on a super TINY plane that didn’t even offer overhead luggage because of how small it was. And then being stuck in traffic after getting picked up from the airport and yep SO many billboards to stare at advertising cosmetic procedures. Definitely an experience lol.

The billboards there are so out of this world. The most interesting one I remember was for a homebuilder. It was of a pregnant woman holding her very pregnant belly. The text was "5 bedrooms and one to grow on". 6 Bedroom houses being normal, you go SLC.

Back in the 70's I saw a flight attendant wearing a t-shirt that read "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you may be in Utah". Back then you couldn't even get a drink at the airport. The tourist dollar has improved things a bit but there certainly isn't much separation of church and state. Fortunately there are some Jack Mormons.
