I was just thinking like chuck e cheese, no one goes to Hooters or Tilted Kilt for the food. I found a news article about one tilted kilt permanently closing but nothing else.
The Tilted Kilt here in Louisville closed after little more than a year, I think.
The Hooters places never seem to have a full parking lot whenever I pass them. Their food pretty much sucks, so I'm honestly surprised they're still open.
Twin peaks still seems busy, hooters closed 1 location and another one was cut in half a few years ago to make it seem fuller. I always wanted to try tilted kilt but it didn't even last a year here
In the greater Kansas City area:
There are two Twin Peaks listed; one in the greater Independence MO area and one across the state line in Johnson Co Ks. Never been to either; too far from where I live.
No Tilted Kilt currently listed; think one existed but closed several years ago.
Hooters has numerous MO locations, mostly in central and eastern MO. Two KC locations, one again in Independence and one in the county I live in. Surprised the latter still open. Visited years ago during World Series. Waitresses varied in hotness; food was okay but not special. The experience was pleasant enough but wouldn't go unless to watch sports.
I haven't been in a breastaurant in over 15 years. Closest one to me is a Hooters 25 miles away. I am surprised that a couple of restaurants have opened up in my town of 15,000 recently. We do have indoor seating with distancing but still surprised that they can drum up enough business.
I've been to the nearby Twin Peaks a few times. They have a lively bar and the food is good enough for a sports bar kinda place. In all reality, the waitresses aren't any cuter than the non-breastruant sports bars nearby though. The tilted kilt nearby here closed too, I considered stopping a few times but never did.
I'm not gonna go to a place like that for the chicks, that's what strip clubs are for. Just like I don't go to a strip club for the food. In my mind, the concept fails. But if they manage to put together food on par with similar options & a decent atmosphere I won't hold it against them.
I'm on the road over 100 nights a year and will mix in one of these restaurants every once in a while, especially during a Monday or Thursday night football game. I'm usually by myself and don't necessarily know the lay of the land in the area so a lot of times it's just easier to go to a chain.
The Twin Peaks in Vegas, on the strip, is kind of cool because it has a climbing wall where you can watch the little waitresses scale it like it's nothing to get the big drunk guys to get up the courage to say "I can do that". It's another form of entertainment besides the game and the girls.
I like Twin Peaks. I actually like the food. Not fond of Hooters. Very limited menu. But breastaurants go on a death spiral. When they are new, they are crowded. Thus the restaurant can be selective in who they hire. Guys keep going because of the cute girl. But then the guys get tired of it, the girls dont'' make the money they were promised, then leave. The restaurant has to go down in quality for servers. Then the guys have less reason to go. Then they die.
Depends on location. But from what I’ve gathered, most service restaurants are falling out of favor and fast casual are more popular now? I get the impression some locations are more lively than others. Just yesterday, somebody from the club messaged me that he was buying chocolates for all the staff at one Hooters location (because it’s Christmas) and was going to visit soon.
The Hooters and Tilted Kilts in my area have been slowly closing down, and that was before the pandemic. Hooters has really fallen off over the last 20 years. The last Hooters I went to had 200-pound porkers waiting the tables.
Tilted Kilt seemed to be everywhere 5-10 years ago but the chain imploded. Their expansion was artificially inflated, then business sagged and they had to have a massive reduction.
Has to get all the boobs puns in.
They are down to 25 locations nationwide plus one in Toronto. I know of at least 4 that were near my house in the Atlanta burbs that are gone. At their peak they must have had a dozen locations in Atlanta area alone.
Hooters has been in a slow decline for decades. I have gone a few times in the last couple of years. The crowd is blue collar laborers, landscapers, painters, etc.
Twin Peaks seems to do well but there are none remotely close to me. There was a Mugs and Jugs chain in Florida. Not sure if it still exists.
The local Hooters keeps its doors open, just barely, but they do.
A Tilted Kilt opened on the main highway a few years ago. The upstairs was a Belushi Comedy Club. It closed in less than two years.
A Twin Peaks opened a couple of years back, and has been fairly succesful. I believe this is because it is front and center of a major intersection leading to the airport, within sight of five hotels, and just up the road from FGCU and all of their sexy young bodies needing low-skill jobs.
It's not the end of breastaurants, but there will be a culling.
Hooters is just okay, Twin Peaks is pretty good. Never been to Tilted Kilt.
We have Winghouse here in Florida, and they are good too...and sexier outfits than Hooters.
Twin peaks in Las Vegas, not the one on the strip, has lingerie weekends at least every month or so. You’re not going to see bare boobs but it is a nice distraction between periods or quarters or during halftime. Food is ok, girls are better than average by quite a bit, and the prices are reasonable so what’s not to like?
There was a Tilted Kilt local to me years ago. What killed it was it was in a large strip mall area with several other sports bars. They all ran daily specials and great happy hour specials where Tilted Kilt refused to do so. Let’s face it, guys aren’t going to pay more than double for their drinks so they can flirt with some skanks, this Tilted Kilt never had a good line up from day one.
I have to admit, I still miss the Buffalo shrimp at Hooters.
The only boob eatery near me was a Tilted Kilt right near the Casino and it was always packed and pretty well staffed but, I believe shut down due to the companies financial issues.
The novel appeal of the boob eatery has waned over the years but, some will always survive in the right locational areas. Last one I went by but, did not go in was across the river from Louisville where there are like 5 Hooters.
A few hooters around me closed. No twin peaks. The twin peaks I’ve been to in the southwest had some hot women working in them though. There was another thread on this not too long ago and Goldmonger was talking about trying take out of them. I should’ve been on that earlier there not really around much to even try it. Slow Monday night, you could get that done
Please clarify James-ape. Is this a lament for existing “boob eateries” (great term longball-ape) or a desire for a new boob eatery where the servers dress up as zombies? I could get behind the latter. Go in, eat some wings, drink a few gimlets, fuck some goth ape dressed up as the living dead in the men’s room.
Just had lunch at the original Hooters in Clearwater. Wasn't packed but not dead either. People were starting to come in to watch college football. Not little stop on the way to Bare Assets in Pasco.
Believe it or not, a few years ago Twin Peaks was a client of mine. I work in the advertising world at an agency. Actually secret shopper a few Twin Peaks locations to win the project. Got to fly out to Texas to present to their executives. Pretty fun and funny building campaigns to promote a breastaurant.

Still a few Hooters operating in nearby Kansas

The buffet at Follies is now gone, too.
